If you’re searching for out-of-season Eurocamp breaks – for a getaway in April or over the Easter holidays – then you’ve come to the right place! Lots of the Eurocamp sites are closed in April but I’ve hunted out the best 20 options that are open in time for the Easter holidays. With the weather still unpredictable at that time of the year, and lots of outdoor pools and facilities closed until May/June, I’ve picked some great sites with indoor pools and amenities so that you can have fun with the kids whatever the weather. Plus, there are a few options (though not always with indoor facilities) that are perfect for city breaks and sightseeing if you want to avoid the summer crowds.
The main thing to be aware of when you book an out-of-season Eurocamp getaway is that the sites will likely offer less facilities and entertainment than you’d see in the summer months. This might mean limited or no evening entertainment, fewer kids’ activities and perhaps limited opening times for the restaurants and shops on-site too. But if you’re happy to enjoy the indoor swimming pools, explore locally and have days out nearby then there’s still plenty of fun to be had. (We love out-of-season holidays because the sites can be so quiet.) Plus, you might get a bargain too – as Easter breaks can be really budget-friendly! So, let’s get stuck in – here are my top 20 picks for Eurocamp holidays in April & over the Easter holidays. Happy holiday hunting!
1. Eurocamp: Duinrell Resort, South Holland, The Netherlands
The Duinrell Resort in the Netherlands is only a 3.5 hour drive from Calais, and it’s famous for its on-site theme park and Tiki Pool waterpark. This site is a fabulous Eurocamp option for April / Easter holidays because there’s so much to do! (Plus the tulips are gorgeous in the Netherlands at springtime!) Finn and Lola adored our stay – which includes unlimited access to the theme park – check out my Duinrell Resort Review to find out more. It has rides to suit kids of all ages and the indoor waterpark is absolutely amazing! There’s also an indoor games room, and you can visit cities like Amsterdam and enjoy a day at Efteling too (if one theme park isn’t enough!). When we visited Rome we stayed with Eurocamp at Camping Fabulous Village and it was a fantastic base for a city visit due to its proximity to the city and the nearby train station – Vitinia Station is just a 5 minute drive away. Read more about it in my Camping Fabulous Village Review. It’s unlikely to be warm enough for a dip in April, which is a shame if you’re visiting over the Easter holidays as the pools there are lovely, but if you want to visit Rome without the summer heat and crowds it’s a great Eurocamp base for a budget-friendly city break. The nearest airport to Camping Fabulous Village Eurocamp is Rome Fiumicino Airport – which is about a 25 minute transfer – so it’s a good option if you’d prefer not to hire a car. Though the outdoor facilities will likely be closed, there’s an indoor swimming pool (payable) and the kids can still make the most of the playgrounds and activities on-site. But, the main reason that I’ve included this resort is that it’s an ideal base for exploring Barcelona without the summer crowds. You can take a 40 minute train ride from Vilanova i La Geltrú station, which is just 3km from the park, or hop on a bus from the resort. It’s in a great location for exploring without a car, with the beach and town just a bus ride away too. Further afield, you’ll also find PortAventura Theme Park! How do I travel from the UK to my Eurocamp holiday?
For ferry and channel crossings to/from Calais – Eurocamp have access to discounted slots which are usually significantly cheaper than booking directly. The prices fluctuate slightly, but a return on the ferry from Dover to Calais is typically £100 (it was £112 for an example holiday on 8-15th Aug and ours was £95 in September) and the Le Shuttle Channel Crossing is around £250 (it was £254 for 8-15th Aug and a similar price for us in June). These costs were based on August dates – the price doesn’t really seem to change during peak school holiday times which is awesome!

Other routes: I’m not certain how many different ferry routes Eurocamp offer, but if you are looking for affordable options to/from a different location then the Direct Ferries website is the best place to look. It’s a comparison website for ferry travel so you can easily see all of the prices from different companies, which route options are available and any current offers running. If it’s not included then Direct Ferries is definitely the next best place to look for cheap ferry options.
For Eurocamp holidays with flights – Eurocamp offer only a few package holiday deals through Jet2holidays (click to check out) so you’ll most likely need to book the flights yourself if you’d prefer not to drive. When it comes to the budget airlines, I think the best options are Jet2 and EasyJet – and for price comparison the Skyscanner website can be a great place to start. You can sort car hire easily on websites like Expedia, or book your transfers to and from the airport on the Suntransfers website before you go to make your trip stress free.
Where else can I stay with Eurocamp in April & over the Easter holidays?
As well as my top picks, you’ll find plenty of other parks open if you’d like a bit more choice – click here to head to the Eurocamp website for more options. However, as I mentioned above, many of the outdoor swimming pools and facilities will be closed (or it may be too cold to make use of them) so check what’s on offer before you book. I picked the sites above as most are well set up for an out-of-season visit but, if you’re hoping to get a little sunshine and are happy to simply use your Eurocamp holiday home as a base, there are other sites available too. And, wherever you end up on your Easter holidays with Eurocamp this April, I hope you have an amazing trip with the kids! 😍
