Holiday: September 2025
Vilanova Park Review
In September 2025, we embarked on a road trip to Spain using Eurocamp campsites to hop between as usual. We jumped on the ferry from Dover to Calais and had a hotel stay halfway before finishing the drive to the South of France for our stay at La Sirène. After 4 nights there, we carried on across the border into Spain splitting 10 days between Vilanova Park and Playa Montroig Camping Resort. (We loved all three resorts, so check out my other reviews too!) Finally, we made the drive back to Calais spending a night in Limoges to break up the journey home. What a trip! So, here’s my review of our stay with Eurocamp at Vilanova Park in Spain – it’s a brilliant campsite that caters well to kids of all ages and they’ve just added new waterslides – perfect!

What was Vilanova Park like?
Vilanova Park is a fantastic holiday park and a brilliant option if you’re on the hunt for a Eurocamp holiday base near Barcelona. The main entertainment, the restaurant and bar, the supermarket, the ice-cream shop, the market and one of the pool areas are grouped together at the front of the site which was handy as the site is large and quite hilly. On the other side of the park, there’s another swimming complex with waterslides and an informal restaurant for things like burgers. The whole resort was really clean and well maintained, and the staff were lovely, so it’s definitely a great option for a family holiday in the Spain. There are palm trees everywhere so you’re in holiday mode the minute you step on site.

We arrived early and were able to check in straight away – make sure you check your emails and complete the online check in for Vilanova Park (not just the Eurocamp pre-check in). It’s super simple but if you don’t complete this before you arrive there’s an admin charge of around £20 – plus it makes checking in super speedy when you arrive. The resort offered sports and kids’ activities, as well as entertainment each night on the main stage and live music at the bar by the pool with the waterslides. The staff running the kids’ disco and other shows all spoke in both Spanish and English (translating as they went along) which was really helpful. And, they were super friendly and enthusiastic – we thought the atmosphere at this resort was really lovely.

There was a lot going on, all of which could be found on the boards around the park or by downloading the app. There were play areas, sports courts and scheduled activities like neon ride ons, soft archery and pool games. At the top of the site there was also a bouncy pillow and adventure golf – which was €6pp and open until 10pm. The restaurant area was gorgeous and lit by twinkle lights in the evenings, with a colourful fountain on the nearby pool too, and on weekdays they offered a 3 course meal for just €18. There were food trucks by the supermarket as well, so plenty of food options if you’d like a break from cooking.

The site is a short drive from the beautiful town of Sitges – we really enjoyed wandering along the promenade there. Vilanova Park lends itself to a car-free Eurocamp holiday in Spain because there’s a bus stop at the campsite so you can easily reach the nearby towns and Barcelona – I’ll pop the prices and options further down in this review. The supermarket on the resort is also very large, well-stocked and reasonably priced – though it’s just a 5 minute drive (or hop on the bus) to an Aldi. And the resort is only a 30 minute transfer from Barcelona Airport – so it’s perfect if you want to fly and explore without hiring a car. We really enjoyed our stay at Vilanova Park so keep reading and I’ll tell you everything you need to know.

What were the swimming pools like?

The outdoor swimming pools at Vilanova Park are split between two areas, and there’s a third pool which is indoors and linked to the spa at an extra cost (€10 for 1 ticket or €50 for 10 tickets). But, if the weather is on your side, you needn’t pay for the indoor pool because the outdoor pools are free and really lovely. The one nearest to the amenities has a large swimming pool and then a second pool with play equipment for little ones – so if you’re travelling with toddlers or younger children this pool is probably the best place to set up camp for the day. The swimming pool there is larger than the other one, so plenty of room to swim or play, and there are sun beds (free) dotted around too. To reach this swimming pool, cut through the camping area opposite the Eurocamp accommodation and go up the stairs – it’ll bring you out by the supermarket and save you a lot of walking!

The pool at the other side of the park is the best place to go if you have older kids, though there’s a small toddler pool there as well. The swimming pool is 1.2-1.4m so it’s perfect for games without it being too deep – we spent a lot of time playing piggy in the middle – and the staff were really chilled about balls and floaties. This pool has the most gorgeous view over the nearby towns and coastline, as well as the all important waterslides. The blue slides are quite tame for the younger ones and they’ve recently added two new additions – a yellow bowl slide and a very speedy green tube slide. Finn and Lola loved the green one! This pool has a huge grassy area with loads of sun beds so there’s plenty of room to relax if you want to chill with a book too. I’m not sure if the pools were heated but they were a good temperature – I’m not a fan of cold pools and they were fine for me.

Local Area: What is there to do near Vilanova Park?
Sitges and Vilanova i la Geltru

Sitges is a great spot for a beach day around a 20 minute drive from Vilanova Park – there’s a lovely stretch of beach with a promenade running alongside it. There you’ll find shops, loads of restaurants and market stalls too, it’s a really popular spot and we enjoyed having a wander and an ice-cream. The huge stretch of sand is perfect for picnics and beach games – it’s definitely worth a visit. Walk down to the end of the promenade to the Plaça del Balaurd and Sant Bartomeu i Santa Tecla Parish Church – it’s a beautiful place to wander and the views over the coast are gorgeous. Similarly, you can also enjoy the beach vibe at Vilanova i la Geltru – both are great options for seaside fun or a bite to eat. Bus tickets for the Vilanova Bus were just €1.65pp each way, or you could get a family ticket for €7.95 – this represented 10 tickets so it would cover a return trip for a family of 5. Children under 4 go free.
PortAventura World
If you fancy some thrill-seeking, you’ll find PortAventura World a 45 minute drive from Vilanova Park. PortAventura World is a massive theme park that’s perfect for kids of all ages – from Sesame Street-themed rides for little ones to adrenaline-pumping rollercoasters for older kids, it’s a guaranteed to be a hit with the whole family. Make sure you pack refillable water bottles and snacks to save on park prices, and use the Tiqets website to hunt out deals for your tickets and skip the entrance queues.
Barcelona

If you fancy some city sightseeing, then you’ll likely want to spend a day in Barcelona during your trip. Vilanova Park is one of the best located Eurocamp resorts for a Barcelona adventure, as it’s within easy reach of the city. The train journey from Vilanova i la Geltrú or Sitges is about 40 minutes and it’s only around £5pp! (So much cheaper than our UK trains!) You can also hop on the bus from the campsite – they run really regularly and you can see all of the times and options on the board by the shop. The Barcelona bus was €6.35pp each way, or you could get a family ticket for €39.50 – this represented 8 tickets so it would cover a return trip for a family of 4. Children under 4 travel free. If you’re thinking of visiting Barcelona check out my article: The 10 best things to do in Barcelona on a budget with kids.

Caribe Aquatic Park
If your kids are as addicted to waterslides as my two, then you’ll definitely want to add a family day out at Caribe Aquatic Park to your itinerary – it’s around a 40 minute drive from Vilanova Park. Use the Tiqets website to hunt out deals for your tickets, and if you also want to visit PortAventura World and Ferrari Land then make sure you check out their combination tickets – if you want to do all three it’s a great way to save money.
Tarragona

Vilanova Park is about a 40 minute drive from Tarragona – we visited on an overcast day and it’s a great place for a wander. You can park in the big mall which was absolutely fantastic for passing the time on a showery day and when it cleared we wandered to the centre to make the most of the gluten free bakery! There’s also a Roman Amphitheatre if you’d like a little bit of history on your trip and it’s far more compact and easy to get around than Barcelona if you’re not up for a big city visit.
Was the accommodation good?

We booked a Premium holiday home through Eurocamp and were really pleased with it. Our particular accommodation was pretty compact but it was in good condition and very clean – we had everything that we needed for a comfortable stay. The only thing that would have made it better would have been an oven – though we did have a hob, a microwave and a BBQ so cooking dinner was fine. The kitchen area did have a dishwasher though, which I have to admit really does enhance the holiday, as there’s nothing worse than washing up when you’re supposed to be having a break from real life! Our accommodation had a central living and kitchen area with a dining table, 3 bedrooms, a shower room and an individual toilet. It also had air-conditioning, plus black out curtains and bug screens on the windows which were great.

We were right at the end of a row of Eurocamp holiday homes (in what almost resembled a cul-de-sac) which was fab – I always ask for a quiet spot. This meant we had a little area by the side of our accommodation, which was like a little garden, perfect for drying washing, BBQs and sunbathing as there were a couple of loungers too. The decking ran the whole length of the holiday home and was awesome – it was one of our favourites yet and so pretty with the nearby palm trees. We had comfy cushioned chairs around the table, with footstools that pulled out from underneath, and a lounge seating area where we spent most evenings. Perfect!

The Eurocamp reps here show everyone to their accommodation on golf style buggies, which was a lovely touch and (as I mentioned earlier) we were able to check in early as our accommodation was ready. They’d popped the air conditioning on already too, which we were so grateful for, and were really friendly. I actually blew the electrics a couple of days into the trip with my hairdryer (oops!) and they came immediately to fix it – Lola was delighted as she got to ride on the buggy with the Eurocamp rep after going to tell them with my husband. 😂

What facilities are on site at Vilanova Park?
- If you don’t want to leave the resort to hunt out food then you can definitely get everything you need there. The supermarket at Vilanova Park was really well-stocked for meals and treats and the prices were reasonable. You could get restaurant food, fast food and pizzas on-site as well so you could easily travel without a car. We did a shop at the nearby Aldi when we first arrived and then just got bits and bobs as we needed them from the campsite supermarket.

- We were able to park directly in front of the holiday home that we stayed in, making it easy to load and unload the car of luggage and food shopping. Most Eurocamp accommodation doesn’t come with a TV – it’s only included with their higher ranges – so it’s handy to take a tablet or laptop with you with some movies for when you want a quiet evening if it’s not included with your holiday home type.
- All of the staff that we met on our trip were helpful and spoke very good English. Vilanova Park had a lovely family feel about it and the campsite staff, lifeguards, animation team and the Eurocamp reps were all really friendly and cheerful.

Getting to Vilanova Park, Spain, from the UK
Vilanova Park is about a 13.5 hour drive from Calais so, if you’re hopping on the ferry and opting for a road trip, you’ll want a stopover on the way. This was our first time driving to Spain and it was surprisingly stress-free. For this trip, we did a hotel stay at Ace Hotel Chateauroux Déols (which was around a 5.5 hour drive from Calais) on the way down. It was a fantastic budget-friendly base for the night – we paid about £70 for a family room. On our way back we stayed in Limoges at Sure Hotel by Best Western – again this was a great base just off the motorway for a stop over mid-way back from Spain, around £90 for a family room. You can book your ferry / Eurotunnel travel directly through Eurocamp, or check out the Direct Ferries website to compare prices across routes and providers.

Use the Skyscanner website to find the cheapest flight prices – it’ll compare airlines, airports, dates and times for you without you having to do all of the leg work! How much does a Eurocamp holiday at Vilanova Park cost – was it good value for money?
Hopefully my review has been helpful – our 5 night stay at Vilanova Park, in Spain, in a Eurocamp Premium holiday home was around £70 per night. We arrived on the 5th of September, so just outside of the peak season, and found it to be fantastic value for money. The site is a great base for a family holiday – you can stay put if you feel like it or go exploring to enjoy beach days, theme parks and city sightseeing – it’s in a fantastic location for days out. The public transport links are brilliant if you’d prefer to fly and travel without a car, and everything you need is on-site. We found the staff so warm and welcoming here and the campsite had a lovely relaxed vibe – it’s a brilliant spot for a getaway with the kids in sunny Spain. For more information, and prices for your dates, click here to check out Vilanova Park on the Eurocamp website.

As we home-educate the kids, we are fortunate to be able travel term-time which is a great money saver, but if you’re restricted to school holiday dates then look for May half-term getaways – they’re always so much cheaper than the summer holidays! But, having said that, affordable school summer holiday travel is possible – I went hunting on the Eurocamp website and found 50 family holidays under £1k for August 2026 – with prices starting from less than £300! (There were more but I ran out of steam! 😂) And, for even more fabulous holiday options in sunny Spain, check out my articles: The 12 best Eurocamp resorts in Spain for family holidays and Which Eurocamp resorts in Spain are near airports?
