The Costa Brava has loads to offer – it’s a fabulous destination for a fun family getaway with the kids so, in no particular order, here are 5 brilliant Eurocamp holidays in this gorgeous region of Spain. The airport transfer times for these resorts are also as little as 30 minutes – perfect for a stress-free journey to the campsite if you’re flying. Happy holiday hunting and I hope you’ll soon be enjoying an ice-cream on the beach! 😊

One of the best Eurocamp resorts for beach holidays on the Costa Brava, Camping Bella Terra is located right on the coastline. A medium-sized campsite, but still well-equipped, it has two swimming pools (including a kids’ pool), tennis courts and mini-golf. If you’d prefer to explore without hiring a car, all you’ll need is an airport transfer as this Eurocamp site is great for care-free beach holidays – it’s located near the town of Blanes so you can wander along the seafront. There you’ll find a great range of dining and shopping options. With forests, sandy beaches and rocky coves on your doorstep, this site is an excellent choice for a family break in a beautiful scenic spot. The nearest airport to Camping Bella Terra is Girona Airport, just a 30 minute transfer away. For more information, and prices for your dates, click here to check out Bella Terra on the Eurocamp website.

With one of the best pool areas on offer on the Costa Brava, Mas Sant Josep Eurocamp is a great option for family-friendly holidays in the sunshine. This resort boasts 3000 square metres of swimming pools with waterslides, a jacuzzi and hydromassage facilities. The site is also close to the beaches of Platja d’Aro, and it offers a great mix of activities for all ages with kids’ clubs, sports, bowling and mini-golf. For days out, explore the beautiful city of Girona (with its medieval and Gothic architecture), Aquadiver Water Park is just 10 minutes away (for even more waterslides!) and the beautiful Lake Banyoles is nearby too. The nearest airport to Mas Sant Josep is Girona Airport – just a short 30 minute transfer away. 3. Eurocamp: Camping Enmar

If you’d prefer smaller site for your getaway in Spain, Camping Enmar is one of the best Eurocamp options on the Costa Brava for more relaxing holidays. Located in Pineda de Mar, it’s ideal for those who want to enjoy the quieter side of the Costa Brava while still having easy access to the lively resorts nearby and the city of Barcelona (50 minute drive or 1 hour train ride). The swimming pool area offers something for the whole family, with a toddler splash pool and a couple of waterslides for the kids. The site also boasts a play area, sports and a kids’ club – and there’s a Blue Flag beach just 100m away. Or head to Water World – the popular water park is just half an hour away. The nearest airport to Camping Enmar is Girona Airport which is around 35 minutes away. For more information, and prices for your dates, click here to check out Camping Enmar on the Eurocamp website.

4. Eurocamp: Castell Montgri Village

Located on the Costa Dorada in the lively town of L’Estartit, Castell Montgri Village Eurocamp is considered to be one of best sites in Spain for family holidays with teenagers. This resort has two swimming pools open until 10pm in high season and a soundproofed underground disco (for over 16s) that looks like great fun for older kids. For the younger visitors, there are some waterslides, a playground and a toddler pool. As well as this, the campsite has sports courts and mini-golf, and it’s not far from the beach for sandcastle building or water sports. Just off the coast you’ll also find the Medes Islands – the perfect adventure for families who like to explore. The nearest airport to Castell Montgri Eurocamp is Girona Airport which is around a 50 minute transfer from the site. For more information, and prices for your dates, click here to check out Castell Montgri Village on the Eurocamp website.

The bus stop outside of the park will take you to Barcelona for some city adventures – and it’s well located for a day at Water World or glass bottom boat trips along the coast to Tossa de Mar. On site, the kids can enjoy the swimming pool, waterslides and toddler splash pool. There’s also a kids’ club, trampolines, a playground, mini-golf and sports on offer. How do I travel from the UK to my Eurocamp holiday on the Costa Brava?

For ferry and channel crossings to/from Calais Eurocamp have access to discounted slots which are usually significantly cheaper than booking directly. The prices fluctuate slightly, but a return on the ferry from Dover to Calais is typically £100 (it was £112 for an example holiday on 8-15th Aug and ours was £95 in September) and the Le Shuttle Channel Crossing is around £250 (it was £254 for 8-15th Aug and a similar price for us in June). These costs were based on August dates – the price doesn’t really seem to change during peak school holiday times which is awesome!

The Costa Brava is about a 12 hour drive from Calais so you’ll want a stopover on the way. For our road trip to Spain, we did a hotel stay at Ace Hotel Chateauroux Déols (which was around a 5.5 hour drive from Calais) on the way down. It was a fantastic budget-friendly base for the night – we paid about £70 for a family room. On our way back we stayed in Limoges at Sure Hotel by Best Western – again this was a great base just off the motorway for a stop over mid-way back from Spain, around £90 for a family room.

Other routes: I’m not certain how many different ferry routes Eurocamp offer, but if you are looking for affordable options to/from a different location then the Direct Ferries website is the best place to look. It’s a comparison website for ferry travel so you can easily see all of the prices from different companies, which route options are available and any current offers running. If it’s not included then Direct Ferries is definitely the next best place to look for cheap ferry options.

For Eurocamp holidays with flights – You can’t book your flights through Eurocamp as a package deal, so you’ll need to book the flights yourself if you’d prefer not to drive. When it comes to the budget airlines, I think the best options are Jet2 and EasyJet – and for price comparison the Skyscanner website can be a great place to start. You can sort car hire easily on websites like Expedia, or book your transfers to and from the airport on the Suntransfers website before you go to make your trip stress free. The main airport for holidays on the Costa Brava is Girona Airport which offers flights from a wide range of destinations and some budget airline options too.

Is the Costa Brava a good place to visit with kids?

Absolutely! The Costa Brava is a brilliant destination for family holidays in Spain and you can even hop over the boarder to explore the South of France too. It offers golden sandy beaches (perfect for budget-friendly family days out), brilliant Eurocamp holiday parks (with things like swimming pools, kids’ clubs, toddler splash pools and gorgeous beachside locations) and loads of sunshine over the summer months and the shoulder seasons. You’ll find artisan ice cream shops on most corners, bakeries in every town and brilliant sea food restaurants for some tasty paella. The Costa Brava is the perfect location for days out too – public transport in the region is inexpensive so it’s easy to hop on a bus or a train to visit cities like Girona or Barcelona. You could also visit Aquadiver or Water World aqua parks, take a glass bottom boat trip or explore the Medes Islands just off the coast. The Costa Brava has so much to offer!
