The closest airport to Salou is Reus – which is only around 15-20 minutes away, so it’s an excellent place to visit if you’re looking for a car-free holiday in Spain as it’s such a short transfer time from the airport. Lots of package holidays at hotels will include transfers but, if you’re going down the Eurocamp route, websites like Suntransfers can be a good place to start.

When’s the best time to visit Salou?

The best time to visit Salou depends on the type of holiday you’re looking for. For warm beach weather, June to early September is ideal, with daytime temperatures typically ranging from 26°C to 31°C and plenty of sunshine. July and August are the hottest and busiest months, making them perfect if you love a lively atmosphere, although attractions and beaches can be much busier.

If you’d rather avoid the crowds while still enjoying pleasant weather, May, June and September are excellent choices. Temperatures are usually between 22°C and 28°C, the sea is warm enough for swimming by late June and throughout September, and it’s much more comfortable for exploring attractions like PortAventura World or taking family walks along the seafront. Even in October, Salou often enjoys mild temperatures of around 20°C to 24°C, although there’s a slightly higher chance of rain.
