If you’re looking for a fun family getaway in the sunny South of France, this Eurocamp Holiday review is all about Camping La Sirène – a 5 star resort in Argèles‑sur‑Mer. I’ve included our experiences, photos, details about the Eurocamp accommodation, what there is to do locally, driving time from Calais, the closest airport and everything else that you need to know. We had a brilliant time – it’s one of the best sites that we’ve visited and a great option if you’re after a large resort with entertainment, play areas and a fabulous waterpark. We were actually supposed to be staying at a different resort, in a completely different part of France, but so many people kept recommending La Sirène to me that I had to see what all the fuss was about!
We always try to travel on a budget, so if you’re looking to explore the UK and Europe with the kids (in an affordable way!) then have a browse around my blog for loads of money saving tips and budget holiday reviews. Holiday: September 2025
Camping La Sirène Review
In September 2025, we embarked on our first road trip to Spain using Eurocamp campsites to hop between as usual. We jumped on the ferry from Dover to Calais and had a hotel stay halfway before finishing the drive to Argèles‑sur‑Mer for our holiday at the gorgeous La Sirène. After a 4 night stay we carried on across the border into Spain, splitting 10 days between Vilanova Park and Playa Montroig Camping Resort – both fabulous too! Finally, we made the drive back to Calais spending a night in Limoges to break up the journey home. What a trip! So, here’s my review of our stay with Eurocamp at La Sirène in the South of France – it’s a brilliant campsite that caters well to kids of all ages and they’re making it even more fun for 2026.

What was La Sirène like?
La Sirène, in the South of France, is a fantastic holiday park and a brilliant option if you’re on the hunt for a 5 star Eurocamp holiday. The entertainment, the restaurants and bars, the supermarket, the bakery, the ice-cream shop and the pool complex were right at the front of the site grouped together. There was also a shop with fresh sandwiches and things like rotisserie chicken to make dinner time really easy, plus takeaway food like burgers and pizzas. Having the facilities all in one place made it really easy to access everything and meant that it was really peaceful near our accommodation which was on the far side of the park. The whole site was really clean and well maintained, and the staff were lovely, so it’s definitely a great option for a family holiday in the South of France. There are beautiful palm trees everywhere so you’re in holiday from the minute you arrive.

I don’t usually focus much of my review on the entertainment (it’s often just bingo and a kids’ disco 😂) but it was on another level at La Sirène – they did an hour long production every night and it was great! (The Lion King was our favourite!) The singers were really talented and the costumes were brilliant – the only downside being that the shows were so popular that it was hard to find somewhere to sit unless you arrived really early. I’d definitely advise bringing a camping chair to combat this, or you can book their dinner package to get a table for the night on the balcony area. But, either way, the shows are well worth a watch. They spoke and sung in a mixture of English and French, and the kids’ entertainment beforehand was also translated. In fact, everyone we came across on the site spoke English brilliantly.

There was a lot going on, all of which could be found on the leaflet received on check-in day – one side of the booklet is in English which makes things super easy. And, you can book in for any activities you fancy on the app. The site runs kids’ clubs for tiny tots through to teens – the teen programme had activities like battle archery, Mario Kart tournaments and orienteering. They also offer loads of sports activities (things like dodgeball, beach volley, basketball), fitness classes and even scuba diving! There’s a fantastic play area too with obstacle type activities, zip-lines, playgrounds, adventure golf and animation staff running kids’ activities on the far side of the campsite. There were also tennis courts in that area, and by our accommodation there was a sports court where they ran exercise classes and activities during the day.

The resort is a short drive from the town of Argèles‑sur‑Mer – it was our second visit to the area and it’s a lovely spot for a sunny beach holiday. Both times we really enjoyed strolling along the promenade and having an ice-cream on the seafront. There are also lots of activities on offer nearby to entertain the kids – things like high ropes, karting, bowling and paint-balling. I’ll give you some more info later on in the review but La Sirène is well located if you’re looking for a Eurocamp holiday in France that offers lots of fun for the kids both on and off site. We didn’t try the food at the campsite but we did get some bits in the supermarket and it was reasonably priced – we did our main food shop at a Lidl nearby and stocked up on our snacks at the park. We loved our stay at La Sirène so keep reading and I’ll tell you everything you need to know.

What were the swimming pools like?

The swimming pool complex at La Sirène was fabulous – with something for kids of all ages and adults too – I’m going to do a bit of a photo dump in this part of my review as there’s so much to show you. The pool area was gorgeous, with a tropical feel, and plenty of space to pop down a towel even though it’s a busy site. (They have astro turf rather than sunbeds.) The different areas of the pool offered different depths to suit little ones and proper swimming. There were also some smaller waterslides in the shallower area of the main pool too. Next to this was a toddler splash pool with little slides and play equipment perfect for the teeniest of guests. Every area had lifeguards dotted around, which is always reassuring, and there’s a restaurant overlooking the pool if you fancy some snacks or want to grab lunch.

The back of the pool area was Finn and Lola’s favourite place to be – there were some brilliant big waterslides including a couple of tube slides, a speedy yellow one and a racer slide. There was also a splash play area there too – with smaller slides and a bucket that drenched everyone every so often. The indoor pool area was great as well – it housed a toddler play pool so if you’ve got little ones you can take a break from the sunshine or keep warm on a cloudier day. There’s also a rope and rock climbing area at the back for the older ones and a jacuzzi for the adults. In the other sheltered pool area there was an adults only swimming pool. I did have a sneaky swim in there (it was so lovely and warm and peaceful!) and they ran exercise classes in that bit as well.

They’re making the pool at Camping La Sirène even more fun for 2026 with the addition of some new big waterslides, an indoor pool with two obstacle courses (one for younger kids and one for teenagers), another swimming pool and all sorts. It’s already a fabulous resort for a family holiday in the South of France so I don’t doubt it’ll be even more popular. Lola wants to come back, she’s gutted they’re missing out on even more cool stuff! 😂 You’ll also be pleased to know that speedos weren’t needed and they were very chilled about us playing with a ball in the pool. It was one of the best pool areas we’ve seen on our travels – my only complaint being that the main pool was pretty cold! It didn’t stop my husband and the kids but I do like it warmer. Other than that, I can’t complain because this one was great fun.

Local Area: What is there to do near La Sirène?
Argèles‑sur‑Mer

Argèles‑sur‑Mer is a great spot for a beach holiday – there’s a lovely stretch of beach with a promenade running alongside it. There you’ll also find shops, loads of restaurants and market stalls, it’s a really popular spot and we enjoyed spending time there on both of visits to this area. There are beach clubs dotted around too and the huge stretch of sand is perfect for picnics and beach games. You can use the land train if you’re visiting without car – there are loads of holiday parks in the same area as La Sirène so it runs from the holiday parks to the town frequently in peak season. At the end of the promenade there’s a marina with even more places to enjoy a bite to eat. You can also take a boat ride from there if you fancy it – there are dolphin spotting trips!
Argèles Adventure

Just down the road from the holiday park you’ll find Argèles Adventure – this spot offers absolutely loads for the kids to do, particularly teenagers and older ones. It’s all grouped together for ease and you can choose from a high ropes adventure course, a drop waterpark, adventure golf, bowling, paint-balling, go karting and all sorts. So, if you’re looking for an action-packed afternoon, you can find all of this just a few minutes from the resort.
Luna Park

Next door to Argèles Adventure you’ll find Luna Park fun fair, which opens in the evenings at 8pm – so if you fancy a change from the on-site entertainment you could pop there for a visit too. There are plenty of rides to keep the kids busy and parking directly next to it – though it’s only a short walk. When we visited, the signs said it was open until September 6th so if you’re visiting over the summer then it’s definitely an option for an evening out just a few minutes away.
City Adventures

La Sirène is right by the Spanish border, so you could country hop as well if you fancied a change of scenery or a city visit. It’s about an hour from Girona and a two hour drive from Barcelona, so both could be options for a day trip or it could be a good spot for a multi-stay holiday if you fancy a bit longer to explore. Make sure you have a look at my Barcelona family holiday itinerary if a city adventure sounds like fun.
Was the accommodation good?

This was our first stay in a Eurocamp Ultimate holiday home – this range isn’t quite as special as the Ultimate Plus but it does offer some good perks and the space is brilliant. I’ll walk you through the best bits and pop in some photos so that you can see what our accommodation looked like. In the kitchen area we had a fridge freezer, an oven, a dishwasher, a microwave, a toaster, a coffee machine and a kettle. There was also air-conditioning and a very comfortable seating area with fabric sofas – it looked like it was a sofa bed if you’re travelling with lots of kiddies. To the side of the table/sofa area there was a TV but it did only have French channels – however the shelf underneath it flipped down from the wall with a USB connector, so if you bring a streaming device or a DVD player you can get around this. (We always travel with our Roku.)

As it was Eurocamp’s Ultimate range we got towels and bed linen included, and the beds were pre-made too which makes life a bit easier when you arrive. Our particular accommodation had three bedrooms – we had plenty of space in the main bedroom which had a big wardrobe, a large bed and a dressing table area. Some of the smaller ranges don’t offer much room for moving around the beds, so the Ultimate ranges are perfect if you want a bit more space and they offer so much more storage too. My son had the twin room with two singles and my daughter was in the bunk bed room. The large decking was great with plenty of space to eat and relax outside – though make sure you bring some bug spray. The citronella candles and bands didn’t seem to work here, we found the Incognito spray to be the best option.

Our particular accommodation was lovely and clean, and we found it to be a really comfortable and spacious base for our holiday. Our only gripe was that the water pressure wasn’t great in the shower which is a pain with long hair. (Plus I think we were spoiled with the rainforest shower head on our previous holiday! 😂) Other than that it was exactly what we needed, and we loved the position at the back of the park too. The beds were really comfy and the windows had blackout blinds and curtains so we slept really well. I always ask for ‘a quiet spot’ in the comments area when I book our holidays and so far it seems to have worked really well – I love my sleep too much!

Just as a side note, if you’re looking at other accommodation types for your stay at La Sirène, for some reason (even though cleaning is included in all other countries) in France you can only get the cleaning service included if you book from Eurocamp’s higher level ranges of accommodation. So, to have it included as standard, you’ll need to book a Premium Exclusive holiday home or something from their Ultimate range. If you book from their other ranges you can pay extra to add the end of stay cleaning on, or tackle it yourself if you want to.
For more info on the accommodation options, and to find out what to pack / what’s included, read my post: Eurocamp Holidays: Which accommodation should I choose? What’s included?
What facilities are on site at La Sirène?
- If you don’t want to leave to hunt out food then you can definitely get everything you need on-site. The supermarket was large and really well-stocked for meals and treats. Plus with the food counter opposite and the bakery next-door there was plenty to choose from for easy meals and lunches if you want to cheat but don’t have a big budget for eating out. They also had a shop with bits like beach wear and a book swap spot which was perfect as I read mine too quickly and needed another for part two of our trip!

- We were able to park directly in front of the holiday home that we stayed in, making it easy to load and unload the car of luggage and food shopping. Most Eurocamp accommodation doesn’t come with a TV – it’s only included with their higher ranges – so it’s handy to take a tablet or laptop with you with some movies for when you want a quiet evening if it’s not included with your holiday home type.
- All of the staff that we met on our trip were friendly, helpful and spoke very good English. The site had a lovely family-friendly feel about it and I think that always makes it that little bit more magical. The people and the facilities were all fabulous.

Getting to Argèles-sur-Mer, France, from the UK
Argèles-sur-Mer is about an 11 hour drive from Calais so, if you’re hopping on the ferry and opting for a road trip, you’ll probably want a stop-over on your way to La Sirène. Sometimes we’ll do a couple of days at another Eurocamp site on our way down to the South of France, but for this trip we did a hotel stay at Ace Hotel Chateauroux Déols around a 5.5 hour drive from Calais. It was a fantastic budget-friendly base for a night – we paid about £70 for a family room, the beds were comfy, it had a blackout blind, a TV for chilling and amenities like a restaurant, supermarket, petrol station and a McDonalds on the doorstep. You can book your ferry / Eurotunnel travel directly through Eurocamp, or check out the Direct Ferries website to compare prices across routes and providers.
If you’re wanting to fly to La Sirène then the nearest airport is Perpignan which is only around 30 minutes away from the campsite – so it’s a good option if you’re looking for a short transfer. How much does a Eurocamp holiday at La Sirène cost – was it good value for money?
Hopefully my review has been helpful – our 4 night stay at La Sirène, in the South of France, in a Eurocamp Ultimate holiday home was £360. I’m so pleased that we changed our plans last minute to stay at this campsite because it deserves all of its 5 stars and we had a fantastic time. So many people told me to visit this one and I have to agree that it’s a brilliant spot for a getaway with the kids. We arrived on the 1st of September, so just outside of the peak season, and found it to be fantastic value for money at £90 per night. The site has so much to offer a family holiday that you can stay put if you feel like it, or explore Argèles-sur-Mer for the beach, promenade and the restaurants if you want a change of scenery. If you fancy a trip to the South of France I’d definitely recommend this one! For more information, and prices for your dates, click here to check out La Sirène on the Eurocamp website.

As we home-educate the kids, we are fortunate to be able travel term-time which is a great money saver, but if you’re restricted to school holiday dates then look for May half-term getaways – they’re always so much cheaper than the summer holidays! But, having said that, affordable school summer holiday travel is possible – I went hunting on the Eurocamp website and found 50 family holidays under £1k for August 2026 – with prices starting from less than £300! (There were more but I ran out of steam! 😂) You might also want to check out my article: The 20 best Eurocamp family holidays in the South of France for more great family-friendly getaway options in the sunny South of France.
