I’ve been hunting for the best Eurocamp Resorts near Caen Port – Northern France has loads of fabulous spots for family fun without the long drive! I’ve found 12 brilliant options in Normandy, Brittany and Picardy – and they’re all within a 3.5 hour drive of Caen Port – with the closest just 15 minutes away! So, if you’re looking for a getaway in France without the long road trip, this article is a great place to start. 1. Eurocamp: La Vallée, Normandy
If you want to be really near to Caen, La Vallée Campsite is perfect for an easy Eurocamp road trip as it’s only a 35 minute drive from the port – and it’s one best resorts in Normandy! The site has indoor and outdoor pools, so all weathers are covered, plus there’s a splash zone and play pool for toddlers, as well as waterslides for the bigger kids. With playgrounds, sports courts and kids’ clubs for all ages too – there’s something for everyone. You’ll find the town of Houlgate just a 15 minute walk away with cafes and a sandy beach. With the D-Day beaches and museums nearby there’s plenty of historical adventures on offer too, and Parc Festyland amusement park is just 45 minutes away. 2. Eurocamp: La Grande Métairie, Southern Brittany
If you’re on the hunt for a 5 star Eurocamp resort near Caen then La Grande Métairie, in Southern Brittany, is a fabulous option around 2 hours and 40 minutes from the port. The gorgeous pool complex, with waterslides, is perfect for a sunny day and there’s a covered pool for any cooler weather. The kids can enjoy the on-site adventure course and zip lines, sports, kids’ clubs, the mini farm, mini golf, pony rides and even scuba lessons! This one has so much on offer and it’s only a short drive to the beach. When it comes to days out, Forêt Adrénaline (treetop course), the Gulf of Morbihan Catamaran Boat Ride and the lovely town of Carnac are all just a stone’s throw away. 3. Eurocamp: Le Mané Guernehué, Southern Brittany
Another 5 star site in Brittany, Le Mané Guernehué is one of the best Eurocamp resorts for waterslide holidays near Caen Port – it’s around a 2 hour and 40 minute drive. We’re heading there this summer and the kids can’t wait! With indoor and outdoor pools, a lazy river and multiple waterslides – the aquatic park will keep the kids busy all day. This campsite offers loads of activities including kids’ clubs for little ones through to late teens, sports, a tree-top adventure course, direct lake access, mini‑golf, pony rides and all sorts! The peaceful forest setting, local sandy beaches and the charming medieval towns of Vannes and Auray are perfect for days out nearby. 4. Eurocamp: Château de Lez Eaux, Normandy
Just 90 minutes from Caen Port, Château de Lez Eaux (in Normandy) offers a peaceful retreat with plenty of charm. The indoor tropical waterpark is the star attraction – featuring waterslides and a large toddler splash and play area, plus there’s an outdoor swimming pool too. Families can enjoy a mix of relaxation and adventure, with nearby sandy beaches and Mont Saint Michel just a short drive away if you’d like to enjoy some days out. There’s a little lake on-site, so bring your fishing gear, and the campsite is set in the grounds of a lovely Château. Normandy is one of the closest regions to Caen for easy family road trips (and stress free holidays!) so it’s a great option if you don’t want a long drive. 5. Eurocamp: Domaine de Drancourt, Picardy
Just 3 hours and 20 minutes from Caen Port, and one of the best Eurocamp resorts for history lovers, Domaine de Drancourt (in Picardy) is located near to the WW1 battlefields. With a brand new pool complex added in 2025 (with both indoor and outdoor swimming options), waterslides, play areas, mini-golf and a kids’ club for little ones there’s plenty to do. You’ll also want to head to Saint‑Valéry sur Somme – there you can ride a steam train, seal watch over the bay and wander the medieval streets. For your little thrill-seekers, Parc Bagatelle amusement park is just 40 minutes away – this one is in a great location for some fabulous family days out. 6. Eurocamp: Le Kervilor, Southern Brittany
If you prefer a smaller campsite, Le Kervilor is a fabulous option for a Eurocamp holiday near Caen Port – it’s around a 3 hour and 20 minute drive. The pool with waterslides will keep the kids busy for hours and you can even get your breakfast delivered to your decking! The site boasts crazy golf, a kids’ club, inflatables, sports and bike hire – so you can enjoy exploring the Brittany coastline. The park is near to beautiful beaches, as well as the historic town of Carnac, and the kids will love watching the yachts at La Trinité-sur-Me. If you fancy a fun day out, Kingoland Amusement Park is about a 45 minute drive and, for those with older kids (14+), the segway tours in Carnac look like great fun! 7. Eurocamp: La Croix du Vieux Pont, Paris
Around a 3.5 hour drive from the Caen Port you’ll find La Croix du Vieux Pont – this Eurocamp is really popular as it’s near to Disneyland Paris and it offers an impressive array of facilities. One of the most visited Eurocamp resorts in Northern France, it’s only an hour’s drive from both Disneyland Paris and Parc Asterix! The resort boasts an indoor swimming pool, an outdoor pool complex, fishing lakes, waterslides and even an artificial beach by the river. The kids will love the playgrounds, kids’ club and sports activities, while parents can enjoy a relaxing evening by the lakeside. 8. Eurocamp: Les Jardins du Morbihan, Southern Brittany
Morbihan is well known for its gorgeous beaches, so Les Jardins du Morbihan is another great option for a getaway in Brittany – this site is around a 3 hour and 15 minute drive from Caen Port. The resort has several swimming pools, including two toddler play pools, and some waterslides for the older kids. For the adults, the spa might appeal with wellness treatments and facilities on offer if you need a break from the kids. A 3.5 hour drive from Caen Port you’ll find Le Fort Espagnol – a popular Eurocamp resort located in a peaceful countryside location near the coast of Southern Brittany. The site boasts a gorgeous pool complex with waterslides, as well as an indoor swimming pool. The Gulf of Morbihan is on your doorstep and there’s a lot on offer to keep the kids entertained including: sports courts, bike hire, playgrounds and a kids’ club. If you love getting around on foot then this one is perfect – it’s only a 15 minute walk to the town of Crac’h with plenty of restaurants and cafes. If you want to be as near as possible to Caen, Riva Bella Eurocamp (located on the Normandy coastline) is just a 15 minute drive from the port! With its own mini farm, this park has a lot to offer families looking for a fun getaway without the long drive. Everyone can enjoy the swimming pools and waterslides, and the on-site kids’ club, inflatables and sports will keep the kids entertained. As well as having Caen on your doorstep, the beach is nearby too – perfect budget-friendly seaside fun – and Parc Festyland amusement park is just 25 minutes away! 11. Eurocamp: Domaine des Ormes, Northern Brittany
For an action-packed Eurocamp getaway near Caen Port, the popular Domaine des Ormes resort in Northern Brittany is a fabulous option just 1 hour and 45 minutes away. This lively park is one of the best Eurocamp resorts for an out-of-season holiday too, with a fantastic indoor pool complex, and the resort offers so many kids’ activities that it’s like a mini adventure park. It boasts everything from horse riding, to treetop adventures, a golf course, soft play, pedalos, sports, kids’ clubs, outdoor swimming pools and more! Les Menhirs is a brilliant Eurocamp pick for a coastal getaway just a 3.5 hour drive from Caen Port – this resort is right next to one of the best beaches in Brittany. The site boasts indoor and outdoor swimming pools, waterslides and a jacuzzi to unwind in, and the kids can choose from kids’ clubs, soft play, sports and play areas. Locally there’s a lot on your doorstep with this one, it’s just a short walk from the bustling seaside resort of Carnac Plage where there’s a wide choice of water sports, restaurants and boutiques. Getting to Caen from the UK by ferry
Travelling from the UK to Caen by ferry is a really popular option for families heading to Normandy or Brittany, especially if you want an easy, no stress start to your holiday. Sailings usually run from Portsmouth with both daytime and overnight crossings available. The journey itself feels very family friendly, with space to walk around, food onboard and the option to book a cabin on overnight sailings so everyone arrives well rested. The journey takes around 6 hours and arriving at Caen, or more specifically Ouistreham, puts you straight onto the Normandy coast within easy reach of beaches, charming towns and popular holiday parks.
