Eurocamp Food Guide: Do You Have to Cook? Costs, Dining Packages & Tips

If you’re planning a Eurocamp holiday, one thing you might be wondering is what the food is like and do you have to cook? While Eurocamp is traditionally a self-catering holiday, you don’t have to cook all the time unless you want to. Most parks offer a mix of food options, and there are now even Eurocamp dining packages available at selected sites giving you more flexibility than ever. In this Eurocamp food guide, I’ll explain exactly what to expect including: kitchen facilities, what food is available, how much it costs, where you can book dining packages and whether they’re worth it.

Eurocamp expert here and one of the most common questions people ask me is, ‘Do you have to cook on a Eurocamp holiday?’ The short answer is no, but it is still mainly a self-catering holiday. Your accommodation will usually include:

  • A small kitchen area
  • A fridge/freezer
  • A hob and basic cooking equipment
  • A microwave
  • A BBQ for outdoor cooking
  • An oven in the Ultimate Plus ranges and some other holiday homes

This makes it easy to cook simple meals and keep your holiday budget-friendly, which is one of the main reasons Eurocamp is so popular with families. That said, you don’t have to cook every night – we do cook a lot of our own meals on our Eurocamp trips, to keep costs down, but it’s nice to have a night off too. Most parks have restaurants, takeaways and snack bars, so you can easily mix self-catering with eating out depending on your plans. Different holiday homes offer slightly different kitchen facilities so check out my Eurocamp Accommodation Guide for photos and options.

What food is available at Eurocamp?

The food options on your Eurocamp holiday will vary depending on the park, but most larger sites offer a good range of options, making it easy to take a break from cooking when you need to.

🍕 Restaurants and takeaways: Many parks have casual restaurants serving pizza, pasta, burgers and grilled dishes. There’s usually a takeaway option too, which is perfect for an easy dinner after a busy day. Some resorts offer dining packages (more on that below).

🛒 On-site shops: You’ll usually find a supermarket selling essentials, snacks and drinks. (Some of them are actually pretty huge – Playa Montroig even has a butchers!) Prices are sometimes slightly higher than local supermarkets, but it’s very convenient for top-ups. Lots of shops also have great lunch options – things like pizza slices – easy and cheap!

🍦 Snack bars and ice cream: Snack bars are great for quick lunches, drinks and ice creams, which are always a hit with the kids.

🥐 Bakeries and fresh bread: A daily bakery run is a highlight for many families. Most parks have a bakery or shop where you can pick up fresh bread, pastries and croissants each morning.

Eurocamp Dining Packages: (New for selected parks)

One of the biggest recent changes to Eurocamp holidays is the introduction of dining packages for 2026 – now you really don’t have to cook! This is still fairly new, and I’m sure it will evolve and expand over time, but at selected parks you can now choose from:

  • Breakfast only
  • Half board (usually breakfast and dinner)
  • Full board (all meals included)

Which Eurocamp sites offer dining packages?

Dining packages are currently only available at a limited number of parks across France and Spain. If you really do want to avoid having to cook, you will have to pick your Eurocamp holiday based on the food packages available. I’ll try keep this updated (they keep adding more!) but you can click here to see the current prices, parks and options. Here’s what’s on offer at the mo:

France

Spain

What’s included in the Eurocamp dining packages?

What’s included depends on the park, but in general:

🍽️ Buffet dining: A mix of Mediterranean and international dishes, light lunches and kids’ options.

🍝 À la carte restaurants: At some parks (like Domaine des Naiades), you’ll also find: pizza, pasta, burgers, meat & fish dishes and desserts like ice cream sundaes.

🥐 Breakfast: Breakfast is usually a mix of continental and hot breakfast buffet food, pastries, fruit, tea, coffee and juice.

How much do Eurocamp dining packages cost?

Eurocamp dining package prices are actually fairly reasonable. Breakfast prices seem to be from around £3.50-£6pp per day, and the other options (with main meals) are stated to be from £7-£9. Prices vary depending on the park and package type, but this gives you some idea. One thing to be aware of is that dining packages must be booked for the full duration of your stay, not individual days. Click here for the Eurocamp dining packages and prices.

How do you book a Eurocamp dining package?

Dining packages are only available at selected parks and the availability can vary depending on the season. With half board, dinner is included on arrival day and breakfast on departure day. Make sure you pick the correct option for your family – for the children’s menu package, your child must be 12 years old and under (or 11 and under at Domaine des Naiades). To include food with your Eurocamp holiday you can:

  • Add dining packages during checkout.
  • Add them later in your My Eurocamp account.
  • Book when you arrive at some parks (Domaine des Naïades requires at least 24 hours’ notice).

Is Eurocamp still good for budget holidays?

Yes, absolutely, but it depends on how you approach it. If you cook most of your meals and shop at local supermarkets, Eurocamp can be a very affordable way to travel with kids – we do most of our trips on a small budget and have never felt like we’re missing out. Eating out as a family of four can be so expensive (especially now we have two teens!) so we like to have a treat or two but generally most of our meals are self-catered. We also never go anywhere without a cool bag rucksack and refillable water bottles – we take picnics everywhere! If you eat out every day, or choose dining packages, the cost can rise quickly, so it’s worth planning ahead if you’d prefer not to cook your own meals.

If you are cooking, you can still keep it simple with things like burgers on the BBQ, pasta dishes, microwave meals and pizzas. (Not the healthiest of options but super quick and easy!) France is great for rotisserie chickens – popped into a wrap with salad it couldn’t be any easier. Sometimes we’ll grab takeaway chips on-site and combine that with boiled hot dogs or fried eggs. I try to mix in some healthy meals too – yes I am the bonkers mum who still cooks things like bolognese, stir fry and curries on holiday! 😂 For holiday homes without an oven, you might even want to pack your air fryer if you’re road-tripping.

How much does the food cost on a Eurocamp holiday?

If you’re wondering about the Eurocamp food costs, it really depends on how you choose to do your holiday.

  • Cooking your own meals is the cheapest option.
  • Eating at on-site restaurants is mid-range.
  • Snacks and takeaways are similar to UK holiday park prices.

A good balance for most families is: breakfast and some dinners in your accommodation, picnics for lunch and a few restaurant meals or takeaways during the week. This keeps costs down while still feeling like a proper holiday. For an example of food prices – during our fabulous stay at Union Lido Mare we ate at the Al Mare Restaurant on the seafront. Our meals were around €12 each – my husband had a burger, Lola had a pizza, Finn had gluten-free bolognese and I had a gluten-free lasagne. Another evening we ordered takeaway from there too – two big gluten-free pizzas and 2 large portions of chips came to €29.

Some of the resorts also run their own restaurant deals. For instance, at Vilanova Park the set menu offered a 3 course meal for just €18 and Saint Avit Loisirs had some great food deals – things like a main, a drink and a dessert for €14. It varies with the site but, with or without a dining plan, you do have affordable options if you’d prefer not to cook every night on your Eurocamp holiday.

Is the food at Eurocamp worth it?

In our experience, the food options are convenient and tasty but the real benefit of a Eurocamp holiday is flexibility. You can cook to save money, eat out when you want a break and mix and match depending on your plans. For us, that balance works perfectly, especially with kids.

Eurocamp might be known for self-catering, but there are now more food options than ever before. Whether you want to cook every night, eat out occasionally or avoid cooking altogether with a dining package, there’s plenty of flexibility and you have the option to do what best suits your family and your budget. If you’re trying to keep costs down, whilst not spending too much time in the kitchen, a mix of easy self-catering meals and eating out is usually the best option.
