Can I see Venice in a day?
You can definitely see Venice in a day – it’s more compact than some other cities and easy to navigate on foot or by boat. In fact, if you have children, it’s probably the perfect amount of time to explore. Venice doesn’t come with a jam packed itinerary, like you may have for somewhere larger like Rome, so it’s totally doable in a day. How do I travel from the UK to my Eurocamp holiday near Venice?
For ferry and channel crossings to/from Calais: Eurocamp have access to discounted slots which are usually significantly cheaper than booking directly. The prices fluctuate slightly but a return on the ferry from Dover to Calais is typically around £100 and the ‘Le Shuttle’ Channel Crossing was around £250 the last time we used it. The prices don’t really change during peak school holiday times either which is awesome! If you want to drive to Venice from the UK, it’s around a 13-14 hour drive from Calais.

Other ferry routes: If you’re looking for affordable ferry options to/from a different location then the Direct Ferries website is the best place to look. It’s a comparison website so you can easily compare prices and providers, see which route options are available and view any current deals.
For Eurocamp holidays with flights: Eurocamp offer some package holiday deals through Jet2holidays which include car hire (click to check out). Not all resorts are available and most families book flights separately – use the Skyscanner website to hunt out the cheapest flights. You can sort car hire easily on websites like Expedia, or book your transfers to and from the airport through Suntransfers. The closest airport is Venice Marco Polo Airport – flights from the UK are typically only about 2 hours and transfers tend to be fairly short (often around 40 minutes).
