Eurocamp France: Which holiday parks are near Paris for a city break?

4. La Croix du Vieux Pont Eurocamp: Berny-Rivière

• Proximity to Paris City Centre: 95km (approx. 1 hour 20 minutes drive)
  Drive Time from Calais: 3 hours (approx. 230km)
• Distance from Nearest Airport: Charles de Gaulle Airport, 85km (approx. 1 hour 10 minutes drive)
• Distance to Disneyland Paris: 90km (approx. 1 hour 10 minutes drive)
• Distance to Parc Asterix: 70km (approx. 1 hour drive)

La Croix du Vieux Pont is a well-loved resort that offers a wonderful mix of relaxation and fun. Located in the scenic village of Berny-Rivière, in France, this Eurocamp is not as near to Paris as some of the other campsites but it’s the largest of these four holiday parks. It boasts an indoor swimming pool, an outdoor pool complex, fishing lakes, waterslides and even an artificial beach by the river. It’s a good option if you’re looking for a well-rounded family holiday alongside your city visit. So, if you’re visiting France with the kids, here are some budget-friendly things to see and do in Paris that the whole family will love. • Cruise the River Seine on a family-friendly boat tour: Taking a boat ride on the River Seine was probably Finn and Lola’s favourite activity during our trip to Paris.
• Enjoy the views from the Basilique du Sacré-Cœur de Montmartre: The basilica, which sits on a hill offering incredible panoramic views of Paris, is free to enter.

• Climb the Eiffel Tower (or just enjoy the view): For those on a tighter budget, simply enjoying the Eiffel Tower from the ground is an experience in itself – there’s even a light show in the evenings which can be watched nearby for free.
• Relax with a picnic in Luxembourg Gardens: This beautiful park is a favourite among locals and tourists alike, and it’s the perfect place unwind and enjoy a picnic lunch.

• Self-Catering: Save money by cooking your own meals. All of the campsites mentioned have kitchen facilities in their holidays homes so avoid eating out where you can, and pack a picnic to take with you into Paris.

• Take Advantage of Public Transport: Campsites like Paris-Est and Le Chêne Gris are well-connected by public transport, making it easy and cost-effective to travel to Paris.
• Include your Travel: Booking your travel directly with Eurocamp is typically cheaper than booking it separately – with the ferry usually around £100 for a return, and Le Shuttle (Channel Tunnel) crossing around £250.
