Tuscany is one of the most beautiful regions in Italy, and finding the best Eurocamp in Tuscany is a great way to enjoy it as a family without the high cost of city stays. With rolling countryside, charming villages, sandy beaches and beautiful cities, it’s an ideal base for an Italian adventure. One of the biggest perks is that you’re still within easy reach of Florence, so you can easily plan a day trip without paying city-centre hotel prices. Florence is one of my favourite places in Italy and it’s a surprisingly easy city to visit on a budget, especially when you stay just outside and travel in for the day. So, if you’re heading to Tuscany, here are my top picks for the 5 best Eurocamp holidays near Florence:
1. Eurocamp: hu Norcenni Girasole Village, Figline Valdarno
Located in the heart of Tuscany, hu Norcenni Girasole Village is one of the best Eurocamp holidays in Italy for a city adventure with the kids – it’s near Florence, Siena and Pisa! With three restaurants and three pool complexes, including waterslides and a lazy river, you’ll be spoilt for choice! There are tons of activities on offer too including high ropes, mini-golf, horse riding, sports and kids’ clubs – as well as wine tasting for the adults. For families who want to explore without hiring a car, you can catch a train from Figline Valdarno Station – just 5km from the resort – or the campsite offers its own bookable excursions too. The nearest airport to hu Norcenni Girasole Village is Florence Airport – around 45 minutes away. For more information, and prices for your dates, click here to check out hu Norcenni Girasol Village on the Eurocamp website.
2. Eurocamp: Le Capanne, Bibbona
Camping Le Capanne has one of the best swimming pools in Tuscany – this Eurocamp site offers loads of fun near Florence. Nestled among pine and olive trees, the site feels peaceful but there’s plenty to keep the little ones happy including fantastic castle-themed waterslides and mini-golf. There are loads of cycling routes nearby and it’s also a great base for day trips to Pisa or Florence – the site is conveniently based less than a five minute drive from Bolgheri train station, or you can drive to Florence in about 90 minutes. They offer kids’ clubs for tots through to late teens, as well as sports, and the lovely town of Bibbona is nearby. Aqua Village Waterpark in Cecina is also just a 15 minute drive away – perfect! The nearest airport to Camping Le Capanne is Pisa Airport – around 40 minutes away. For more information, and prices for your dates, click here to check out Camping Le Capanne on the Eurocamp website.
3. Eurocamp: Camping Village Valle Gaia, Casale Marittimo
For those seeking a tranquil retreat in Tuscany, Camping Village Valle Gaia is an excellent choice for a Eurocamp holiday near Florence – and it has THE best playground! My kids absolutely loved the huge play space, we spent most evenings there – check out my Camping Village Valle Gaia Review for all the details – we had a brilliant time! The park also features multiple swimming pools and a waterslide for even more fun, and it’s just a short drive to the beach. The drive to Florence takes 90 minutes, or hop on the train – Cecina train station is just 10km away. For a fun day out with the kids, Aqua Village Waterpark is also just a 15 minute drive from the campsite. The nearest airport to Camping Village Valle Gaia is Pisa – about a 40 minute drive. For more information, and prices for your dates, click here to check out Camping Village Valle Gaia on the Eurocamp website.
4. Eurocamp: hu Montescudaio Village, Cecina
Another one of the best spots for Eurocamp holidays near Florence, hu Montescudaio Village offers a great family-friendly base for your adventure in Tuscany. This park features a pool complex with four swimming pools, a few waterslides and a kids’ splash pool, plus there’s a kids’ club on-site too. It’s close to the beautiful Tuscan beaches – if you’d like to combine days in the city with fun on the sand. Florence is a 90 minute drive away, though Cecina train station is just a few minutes drive from the park if you’d prefer to travel by train. If you also want to visit the Leaning Tower of Pisa it’s a 50 minute drive, and Aqua Village Waterpark is just 10 minutes down the road. The nearest airport to hu Montescudaio Village is Pisa – approximately 35 minutes from the site. For more information, and prices for your dates, click here to check out hu Montescudaio on the Eurocamp website.
5. Eurocamp: hu Park Albatros Village, San Vincenzo
hu Park Albatros Village is not as near to Florence as the other Eurocamp sites (it’s around a 2 hour drive) but it’s one of the best spots for family fun in Tuscany so it just had to be included. It’s also a little bit special because it’s only a 20 minute drive from the Port of Piombino – from there you can hop on a ferry to visit the beautiful island of Elba. Back on-site you can catch the mini train to get around, and choose from 6 swimming pools! There’s also bike hire, mini-golf, pool tables, kids’ clubs, sports and even an aerial adventure course. This park has a lot to offer, as it’s right by the beach as well, so it may be worth the longer drive for your day trip to Florence. The nearest airport to hu Park Albatros Village is Pisa – about an hour’s drive away. When’s the best time to visit Tuscany?

To make the most of the pools and activities at the Eurocamp holiday parks, the best time for a family visit to Tuscany is definitely over the summer months or the shoulder seasons. How do I travel from the UK to Tuscany?
For ferry and channel crossings to/from Calais: Eurocamp have access to discounted slots which are usually significantly cheaper than booking directly. The prices fluctuate slightly but a return on the ferry from Dover to Calais is typically around £100 and the ‘Le Shuttle’ Channel Crossing was around £250 the last time we used it. The prices don’t really change during peak school holiday times either which is awesome! If you want to drive to Tuscany from the UK, it’s around a 14-15 hour drive from Calais.

For Eurocamp holidays with flights: Eurocamp offer some package holiday deals through Jet2holidays which include car hire (click to check out). Not all resorts are available and most families book flights separately – use the Skyscanner website to hunt out the cheapest flights. You can sort car hire easily on websites like Expedia, or book your transfers to and from the airport through Suntransfers. The main airports in Tuscany are Pisa Airport and Florence Airport – flights from the UK are typically only about 2-2.5 hours so it’s a good spot for a getaway with the kids.
