Merlin has launched a new 2 for 1 ticket offer for theme park visits over the summer. Book your first visit between 25th June and 27th July 2026, and you’ll get a FREE second day out at another Merlin theme park. That’s two theme parks for the price of one. I’ve included all the links you need below. Simply choose your main park, then select a second park to visit for free. Just make sure you check the terms and conditions when booking, and both visits must take place between 25th June and 25th September 2026. (T&Cs apply)

Which Merlin Theme Parks Should You Pick for the 2 for 1 Offer?

Each of the Merlin theme parks offers a completely different experience – and some attractions are best suited to younger or older children so here’s a breakdown so you can decide which parks will best suit your 2 for 1 tickets:

Alton Towers Resort (Staffordshire)

One of the UK’s biggest and most famous theme parks, Alton Towers is home to iconic rollercoasters like Wicker Man, Nemesis and The Smiler. There’s something for all ages though – as well as the big rides CBeebies Land offers gentle rides for little ones. (Little Bluey fans will love the new junior rollercoaster!) It’s not far from the Peak District, so it can be a great one to include within a family UK staycation too. We had so much fun when we visited Alton Towers and it’s perfect for little ones through to teens. For more info, check out my Alton Towers Guide.

Thorpe Park Resort (Surrey)

Geared towards teens and adults, Thorpe Park is a haven for adrenaline junkies. With rides like Stealth, Saw and Colossus, it’s one of the most intense parks in the UK. It also hosts popular seasonal events and boasts some fabulous water rides (my favourite part!) so bring some spare clothes and prepare to get absolutely drenched! 😂 My children, 12 and 13, absolutely loved our day at Thorpe Park – it’s definitely one of their favourite places for a day out! Chessington World of Adventures (Surrey)

Ideal for families with younger children, Chessington combines theme park rides with a zoo and SEA LIFE centre. There’s a wide mix of rides from the jungle-themed Zufari to the fun Room on the Broom attraction. There are lots of rollercoasters for pre-teens too, I think Chessington World of Adventures is a great option for kids around 13 and under. We had an awesome time on our Chessington visit so make sure you read my Chessington World of Adventures Review & Guide. LEGOLAND Windsor Resort (Berkshire)

A dream day out for LEGO-loving kids! With mini lands, building workshops and interactive rides, LEGOLAND Windsor is perfect for kids from toddler age through until about 10-11 years old. This one is the ultimate day out for families with little ones, with tamer attractions and rides best suited to the smallest of visitors. We took our two when they were younger and they had a brilliant time – throw back photo below! Our recent visit with our friend’s children was fabulous too – check out my LEGOLAND Windsor Guide for all the details.

Is the Merlin 2 for 1 Offer Worth It?

In short, yes, the Merlin 2 for 1 offer can be excellent value for families, especially if you’re already planning to visit more than one theme park. With standard ticket prices often costing around £30 per person, getting a second day out for free can save a family a significant amount of money. For a family of four, that could easily mean £120 in savings across two park visits. That said, whether it’s “worth it” really depends on how you plan to use it – the Merlin 2 for 1 deal is a great choice if:

  • You’re planning two separate theme park days anyway
  • You live within a reasonable driving distance of multiple parks
  • You’re visiting during the summer holidays and want to maximise value
  • You’re happy to visit on selected dates only

It’s also ideal if you pair parks strategically. For example:
