Swap or not? Lacura Moisturising Face Wash review – Aldi, £1.15

Swap or not – Aldi Lacura Moisturising Face Wash review! I have super sensitive skin and rarely try anything new for fear of a bad reaction. I wear the make-up brand Natorigin, which is both hypoallergenic and uses natural ingredients, and was using their expensive cleanser to clean my face for quite some time through fear of using anything else. But, I seemed to be having more breakouts as I got older (life is so cruel!) so I decided it was time for a change.

I was doing the weekly shop at Aldi when I came to the beauty section and decided to see what they had. The majority of the ingredients in this Lacura Face Wash are identical to the branded Simple version – but the price tag is largely different! At just 99p, I thought that this product was definitely worth a try. (It’s since gone up to £1.15 – but it’s still a bargain so I’ll forgive them!) So how did I get on – here’s my review of Lacura Moisturising Face Wash

A new product?

I originally wrote this review based on Aldi’s Lacura Face Wash which looked like this at the time:

They’ve since changed the packaging to this – it says ‘New’ but personally I’ve not noticed a change in the product:

Is Lacura a good face wash?

I love Lacura Moisturising Face Wash and the condition of my skin seems to have improved enormously since I started using it which I assume is because it washes off my make-up well and makes my face super clean! It leaves skin smooth, and my kids use it too – they love how it makes their skin feel super soft!

Is it good for sensitive skin?

Well, my skin is just about as sensitive as it comes, and I can’t tolerate fragrances at all. So, finding such a cheap product that is kind to skin is a blooming miracle! And, I absolutely love it. This product is soap, alcohol and mineral oil free, with no artificial perfumes or colours. I’ve never had a reaction to the product, and my son has eczema on his cheeks and it doesn’t irritate him either.

Aldi Moisturising Face Wash Ingredients:

Aqua, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Decyl Glucoside, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Chloride, Peg-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, Sodium Benzoate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Bisabolol, Disodium Edta, Lactic Acid, Panthenol, Propylene Glycol, Peg-55 Propylene Glycol Oleate, Glycol Distearate, Laureth-4, Sodium Hydroxide, Polyquaternium-39, Glycerin, Formic Acid

How do you use Lacura Moisturising Face Wash?

I use the Lacura Face Wash every night to remove my make-up and I finally feel like I’ve got a good skin routine that works for me. I pop a pea-sized amount onto my fingers, add water and lather up. Then I just rub the face wash all over my face, in a circular motion, before rinsing with a flannel a couple of times to make sure that my face is really clean. (Avoiding the eye area.) I find this face wash really moisturising, it leaves my skin feeling lovely.

Is Aldi’s Lacura Face Wash good value for money?

Aldi’s face wash lathers really nicely in your fingers, and I literally use a tiny amount each day – so the 150ml product lasts for weeks! Even with the kids using it every night before bed too, it still seems to be like the Mary Poppins of face washes – it lasts for ages!

It can be quite rare to find a budget friendly product that doesn’t have a compromise, but I can honestly say that it works brilliantly and in this case it wouldn’t be worth spending out more on anything else.

So, what’s the final verdict?

Well, I’ve been using Aldi’s Lacura Face Wash for years now and it’s definitely a keeper! My skin feels smooth and clean, and breakouts are a thing of the past – it might be a coincidence but I won’t stop using it now!

I think that being perfume and soap free, it’s a really good option for anyone with sensitive skin. I will be absolutely gutted if Aldi ever stop making it! It’s very rare to find a budget product that surpasses all expectations – thank you Aldi! 😍 I would highly recommend giving it a go – I prefer it to pricier washes / cleansers, and at £1.15 you’ve not got much to lose!

Let me know if you’ve tried any other of Aldi’s other beauty products!

  1. I will definitely be giving this a try. I bought a supposedly natural face wash from a very well known shop which actually caused my skin to ‘dry’ out. Love a lot of Alidi’s skin care range already, both for the price and results.

      1. Thank you for leaving this review, I bought this today but was a bit afraid t9 try it because like you I have super sensitive skin, you have mad3 me feel confident to use it, thanks again x

        1. Hi Carol,
So glad to have been of help, hopefully you’ll be fine – I just hope they never stop selling it as it’s so hard to find affordable products when you’re skin is sensitive isn’t it!
          Nat x
