Top tips for a budget-friendly PortAventura holiday:
- Pack a picnic: PortAventura can be expensive for food, but with Eurocamp’s self-catering accommodation, it’s easy to prepare your own packed lunches for a day at the park. There are plenty of picnic spots where you can take a break without breaking the bank.
- Use public transport: If you can get around via public transport, rather than using private transfers or hiring a car while you’re in Spain, then you’ll likely save a small fortune – especially as lots of these Eurocamp resorts are near the airport as well as PortAventura theme park.
- Visit midweek: To avoid the biggest crowds and get the most value out of your tickets, visit PortAventura midweek. It’s quieter, and you’ll spend less time in queues, meaning you can do more in the park!
- Look for Eurocamp deals: Eurocamp often has fantastic discounts and early booking deals, so be sure to book early (or keep an eye out for special offers) to save on your accommodation in Spain too when you’re choosing a holiday park near PortAventura. Check out my full Eurocamp guide for loads of tips on how to save money on your Eurocamp holiday.
- Buy a combo ticket: If you want to visit PortAventura and Ferrari Land (which is right around the corner) grab a combo ticket to save on entrance fees. PortAventura also has a waterpark (Caribe Aquatic Park) so if you want the full theme park experience – and you’re planning to head to all three – a combo ticket including the waterpark will be the most cost effective way to do it.
How do I travel from the UK to my Eurocamp holiday in Spain?
For ferry and channel crossings to/from Calais – Eurocamp have access to discounted slots which are usually significantly cheaper than booking directly. The prices fluctuate slightly, but a return on the ferry from Dover to Calais is typically £100 (it was £112 for an example holiday on 8-15th Aug and ours was £95 in September) and the Le Shuttle Channel Crossing is around £250 (it was £254 for 8-15th Aug and a similar price for us in June). These costs were based on August dates – the price doesn’t really seem to change during peak school holiday times which is awesome! If you need to make any amendments, just let them know and they’ll contact the Channel Tunnel for you. We’ve altered our crossing times several times (before and during our trips) where plans have changed.

Other routes: I’m not certain how many different ferry routes Eurocamp offer, but if you are looking for affordable options to/from a different location then the Direct Ferries website is the best place to look. It’s a comparison website for ferry travel so you can easily see all of the prices from different companies, which route options are available and any current offers running. If it’s not included then Direct Ferries is definitely the next best place to look for cheap ferry options.
For Eurocamp holidays with flights – You can’t book your flights through Eurocamp as a package deal, so you’ll need to book the flights yourself if you’d prefer not to drive. When it comes to the budget airlines, I think the best options are Jet2 and EasyJet – and for price comparison the Skyscanner website can be a great place to start. You can sort car hire easily on websites like Expedia, or book your transfers to and from the airport on the Suntransfers website before you go to make your trip stress free.
Hopefully choosing a Eurocamp holiday park near PortAventura in Spain will allow you to enjoy all the thrills of the theme park while keeping costs under control. With great on-site facilities, plenty of activities for kids and self-catering accommodation, these parks offer the perfect balance of adventure and relaxation for a budget-friendly family holiday. Whether you want to be just 10 minutes away, or enjoy a mix of beach and theme park fun, Eurocamp has some great options for your next family getaway!
