If you’re looking for a family-friendly day out in North Devon (or visiting from nearby Cornwall) then The Milky Way Adventure Park offers lots of fun with the kids. We had a great time on our recent visit and, as well as my review of our day, I’ve included a bit of a guide to help you with yours with: the attractions on offer, practical information and facilities, photos, the best places to stay nearby and more! So let’s get stuck in…
Visit: May 2025 (Updated March 2026)
Where is The Milky Way Adventure Park located?
If you fancy a day out with the kids, The Milky Way Adventure Park is nestled in the beautiful countryside near Clovelly, Bideford in North Devon. It’s directly off the A39, which makes it very easy to reach by car. (The postcode is EX39 5RY and it’s well signposted from the main road.) Once you arrive, there’s plenty of free parking. Though it’s in Devon, it’s actually very close to the border to Cornwall so you can visit the amusement park from both locations – it’s around a 30 minute drive from Bude.

What attractions and activities are there at the Milky Way Adventure Park?
The Milky Way Adventure Park is such a quirky place with all sorts of attractions and activities for the kids – if you’re visiting North Devon it’s definitely a fantastic option for a family day out. As well as more thrilling rides (yes, there’s even two rollercoasters!) there are loads of family-friendly activities too and play areas for the kids – old and young! Here’s a breakdown of what you can expect from a visit to The Milky Way Theme Park, with some of the main attractions:
Thrilling rides:
- Gravity Rider: A 30-foot tall donut slide providing a thrilling descent for little daredevils.
- Cosmic Caterpillar: A gentle roller coaster perfect for younger children.
- Cosmic Typhoon: A family-friendly roller coaster that offers exhilarating twists and turns.

Activities for the whole family:
- Mini Golf: A nine-hole course providing fun for the whole family.
- Droid Destroyer Dodgems: Classic bumper car fun for all ages.
- The Milky Way Railway: A charming train ride suitable for all ages.

Interactive experiences and play:
- Ziggy’s Blast Quest: An interactive ride where participants pilot cyber scooters and use Blasteroid Lasers to save Planet Earth.
- Pottery painting: Pay for what you pick – there’s loads of options if you fancy some calm painting alongside your adventure park day.
- Ninja Stars: A family assault course with Tag Active scoring, challenging participants to navigate obstacles and score points. My kids absolutely adored this – and 20 minutes is more than enough – they were so hot and sweaty afterwards! 😂

- Bouncy pillows: Big enough to accommodate all ages.
- Indoor play area: We were so surprised to find both a soft play for younger ones, and big slides and drop slides for older kids too – the indoor play area is the perfect rainy day hide-out whatever age kids you have!
- Laser target shooting: A target shooting area for older ones and adults.

Live shows:
- Merlin’s Magic Shows: Live performances by Merlin, known from Britain’s Got Talent, captivating audiences with illusions and tricks.
- Birds of Prey Displays: Engaging shows featuring majestic birds, offering educational insights and close-up experiences.

What age is it suitable for – and how long do you need for a visit?
One of the best things about The Milky Way is that it’s genuinely fun for a wide age range. Before our visit, I wondered if there would be enough on offer to entertain older kids as well as younger ones, but we were really pleasantly surprised! There’s loads for little ones – think soft play, mini coasters and gentle train rides – but also enough to keep older children and even teenagers happy for the day.

My two loved the Ninja Stars area, and challenging us to a round of mini golf, plus Finn loved the drop slides too. I’d say it’s best suited for children aged 2 to 12, but there’s enough variety that even teens (and parents!) can enjoy themselves. With older ones I’d say an afternoon is a great amount of time for your visit, but if you’ve got younger kids – or they’d like to go on things multiple times – you could easily spend a day enjoying The Milky Way Adventure Park.

What facilities are there?
The site is set up well for families. There’s a café serving hot meals, snacks and drinks – though there are also plenty of picnic areas if (like us) you prefer to bring your own food. There’s also plenty of seating dotted around the attractions and play areas too – they’re well set up for parents needing a rest while the kids play! 😂 There are plenty of toilets and lockers for valuables (£2 for 3 hours or £5 for the whole day) if you’d prefer not to carry your bags around – though you can to and fro from the car with your hand stamp. The staff were friendly and approachable during our visit, and the site is flat and buggy-friendly.

What are the opening times?
Term-time The Milky Way Adventure Park is open from 10.30am – 4.30pm, but during the Devon school holidays it’s open from 10am – 5pm so the kids can enjoy an extra hour of fun. When we visited it was very quiet, there were a few families and a school trip but it’s a big place so there still weren’t any queues – but during the school holidays I imagine it would be far busier so make sure you allow enough time for your visit during peak times.
Where are the best places to stay near The Milky Way Adventure Park with kids?
The Milky Way Adventure Park, though located in North Devon, is actually only a few miles from Cornwall – so you’ve got a lot of options in both places when it comes to choosing your base for your family holiday. I’ve been hunting out the best places for family holidays in the South-West, so for lots of great options make sure you check out these two articles:

And, in the meantime, here’s a sneaky peak at some of the best holiday parks near The Milky Way Adventure Park:
- Parkdean Resorts: Bideford Bay Holiday Park – The park has both indoor and outdoor heated pools and offers activities like adventure golf, battle blasters, kids’ clubs, aqua fun, arts & crafts and a waterslide. It couldn’t get much closer either – it’s just a 2 minute drive from the Milky Way Adventure Park!
- Park Holidays UK: Hengar Manor Holiday Park – set within a 35-acre country estate this lovely site is a hidden gem for family-friendly holidays in Cornwall – it’s around a 50 minute drive from The Milky Way Adventure Park.
- Away Resorts: Bude Holiday Resort – a brilliant kid-friendly park in Cornwall with a fantastic outdoor heated pool that includes a splash zone for the little ones – just 30 minutes away from The Milky Way Adventure Park.
- Woolcombe Bay Holiday Park – a brilliant family-friendly North Devon holiday base with indoor and outdoor pools, kids’ activities and waterslides – 50 minutes drive from The Milky Way Adventure Park.
How much are The Milky Way Adventure Park tickets – is it good value for money?
I think the ticket price offers good value for money – there’s a lot to do at The Milky Way Adventure Park. Current prices (for 2026) range from £14.95 – £19.95 for standard adult and child tickets, with cheaper prices for children under 2 years old. This makes it £60-£80 for a family of four and once inside you needn’t spend a penny more if you don’t want to. I paid £2.95 per child for the Ninja Stars activity too (this is due to them getting an interactive wristband for it) but subsequent turns are £1.50 and you can bring your band back for future visits too. Aside from this, we brought our own food with us and didn’t spend anything else.

What else is there to do nearby?
The Milky Way Adventure Park is right next door to the North Devon Wake Park, so you could easily combine both attractions if you’ve got water-loving kids or teenagers in tow. (We did both in one day – tiring but brilliant!) This part of North Devon is also very close to the stunning Hartland Peninsula and beaches like Westward Ho! and Bude, so it’s a great base for a family holiday. The village of Cloverly, nearby to the adventure park, is a picture-perfect fishing village with steep cobbled streets too if you’d like to do some exploring. Is The Milky Way Adventure Park worth visiting?
If you’re in North Devon or Cornwall with the kids, then I’d definitely recommend spending a day at The Milky Way Adventure Park. It’s not huge or flashy like some of the main UK theme parks, but that’s part of the charm – it feels personal, manageable and well thought-out for families. The attractions there are pretty unique – it’s quite an eclectic mix of activities, but there’s something for everyone and it’s a big place with lots on offer to keep the kids busy. The vast indoor areas make it a good option for the UK weather as well – many of the attractions are in the warm so it’s a good rainy day spot too. Have a lovely time! 😊
