Warner Hotel Review: Sinah Warren, Hayling Island

Situated on the picturesque Hayling Island in Hampshire, Sinah Warren Warner Hotel offers a great couples retreat with coastal charm – this is a unique review for me because this hotel is adults-only and we treated ourselves to a few days away from the kids. So, this will be a bit of a change from my usual family-friendly articles as I’ll be telling you everything that you need to know if you fancy a child-free UK getaway. We picked the Sinah Warren Warner Hotel because they were offering a brilliant price for a 2 day break, including food and entertainment, so off to Hayling Island we went and I’ll include what we spent further down in my review – it was surprisingly budget-friendly!

Visit: February 2025

Where is Sinah Warren Hotel and how do I get there?

Sinah Warren Warner Hotel is situated on Hayling Island in Hampshire. The hotel boasts stunning views over Portsmouth and Langstone Harbour and, even on a cold February morning, we woke up to beautiful views over the water. The hotel is accessible via the A27, with clear signposts leading to Hayling Island. Sinah Warren Hotel is about a 25 minute drive from Portsmouth, 30 minutes from Chichester and 45 minutes from Southampton – so there are plenty of options for days out if you fancy doing some exploring during your break.

What accommodation options are there at Sinah Warren Warner Hotel?

Sinah Warren Hotel offers a variety of rooms to cater to different preferences and budgets, as the prices vary slightly. You can choose from:

  • Garden Chalets: Chalets in the grounds – these are accessed from outside of the main hotel, so they’re great for views and peace and quiet but it could be a bit annoying dashing to the main building in the event of wet weather.
  • Standard Rooms: Comfortable spaces equipped with essential amenities.
  • Signature Rooms: These rooms provide added luxuries, including a larger space and enhanced in-room facilities.
  • Royale Rooms: For those wanting a more premium experience, Royale Rooms offer superior comfort with exclusive features.

All accommodation types come with en-suite bathrooms, complimentary Wi-Fi, tea and coffee making facilities, towels, toiletries and comfortable seating areas. So, whichever one you choose, they all look like pretty good options to me! We booked a Signature Room and it had everything that we needed for a lovely stay, with direct access outside. This range of accommodation includes extras like a mini-fridge and bathrobes. This was the view from our room! 😍

The Signature Rooms are part of the main hotel so you don’t need to venture outside in the event of bad weather – you can navigate the corridors to find all of the facilities whilst staying warm and dry. The upstairs rooms have balcony areas, whilst downstairs (where we were) come with patio furniture which would be lovely in warmer weather. We did enjoy a blustery morning walk, as it was beautifully sunny despite being cold, in the grounds outside of our room but it was too chilly for sitting! Here are some photos below of our Signature Room:

Are Warner Hotels all inclusive?

So much is included in the cost at Warner Hotels – it’s an all inclusive break excluding drinks and lunch – so value for money was one of the main reasons that we picked Warners. We booked a few months ahead, paying £250 for a two night Wednesday-Friday stay in a Signature Room with a view and late check out – without late check out I think it would have been around £220. (You can pay a bit extra for early check in / late check out if you want to.) The price included breakfast and a three course dinner for both days, as well as evening entertainment, day time activities and the use of the facilities at the hotel. So for £125 per night with meals, entertainment and the pool included – it was actually a great budget-friendly getaway.

Entertainment

The entertainment at Warner Hotels varies so we picked our particular dates because we love comedy and the break offered one evening with a comedian, and another with a musical show. Whenever you choose to stay, there’ll be entertainment on offer every day of the week. On their website, you can look through the different evening entertainment offerings for each hotel (they vary with the date) and pick one that appeals to you. So, after dinner on our first night we watched a show from comedian Danny Posthill, who you might have seen on Britains Got Talent. Some of the dates offer themed evenings, and others have tribute acts or singers. Warners Hotels don’t have a strict dress code – it’s sort of a smart casual vibe – so you can wear what you like.

Food

The food at Sinah Warren Hotel was really good quality – for breakfast there was a buffet of hot and cold food, as well as menu items that you could order too. We found the staff to be really attentive and friendly in the restaurant, and drinks are charged to your room so you don’t need to worry about carrying cash – the hotel is cashless. You’re assigned a table for your stay, that you then use for all meals, and for buffet items you can just grab a plate and help yourself.

In the evenings, during our stay, there was a large carvery area for a roast dinner, as well as a smaller section which rotated themed dishes – such as Italian pasta dishes or Asian food. There was also a huge salad area (the coronation cauliflower was amazing!), so there was plenty of choice and it was all tasty. Starters and puddings were chosen from a menu and brought to the table – it must be well-prepped as these would literally arrive within minutes! (And there was a gluten-free menu which was useful for me.) You could also have snacks, drinks and lunch from the other bar / restaurant area as you wanted throughout the day, but that was at an additional cost.

Activities

There’s a very full day-time entertainment and activity programme on offer with all Warner Hotel holidays – we didn’t take part in these but you get given a brochure listing what’s on offer when you arrive. This included things like aqua aerobics, tai chi, trivia quizzes, wildlife walks, bingo, laser pistol shooting, talks, craft workshops (like jewellery making), movie screenings, gin tasting, spa facials and dance classes – with the majority of it included in the cost of the stay. I think that the only activities that had an extra charge were those that included alcohol – you typically don’t pay for the activities at Warner Hotels – and there was something going on in the main entertainment space pretty much every time we walked past!

Wellness and swimming

Sinah Warren has an indoor heated pool that’s available year-round, while a heated outdoor pool operates from June to early September for a swim with a view in the warmer months. The indoor pool area also had a jacuzzi (which we spent a good few hours in during our stay) and there is a spa available too with treatment options and a steam room for a bit of relaxation and rejuvenation. The area near the pool also had things like pool tables, if you wanted something to pass the time on a rainy day. You can use the towels from your room at the pool, or bring your own, if you fancy a swim.

Warner Leisure Hotel locations – which one is near me?

There are 16 Warner Leisure Hotels in the UK so it should be easy to find one fairly near to you, wherever you’re located. We picked Sinah Warren due to it being just a two hour drive from us, as we didn’t want a long trip for a short stay break. Most of the Warner Hotels offer a similar package with regards to entertainment and amenities, but some have added extras like more restaurant options, golf courses and things like a cinema on-site – so as well as considering the location have a look at what they offer too. Here’s a full list of all 16 Warner Leisure Hotels, with a little bit about them, to help you choose.

Which Warner Hotels have the best reviews?

I had a good hunt on TripAdvisor to see which Warner Hotels have the best reviews – and literally every single one of their 16 hotels is rated at least 4 out of 5 – which is unusual for most hotel chains and holiday companies but something that Warners should be very proud of. For the best of the bunch, there are two Warner Hotels that have outstanding reviews and an overall score of 4.5 out of 5; Sinah Warren (where we stayed) and The Runnymead on Thames in Surrey. But, from our experience, Warners seem to have high standards so I think whichever one you choose you’ll likely have a warm welcome, exceptional service, loads to do and a lovely stay – my review of Sinah Warren Warner Hotel was so easy to write and the views of the coast at Hayling Island were gorgeous.

What’s a stay at Sinah Warren Warner Hotel like?

I’m not going to lie, there were a lot of elderly people staying at Sinah Warren – and we expected this as Warner Hotel stays are typically known for attracting the older generation. Though it was a bit strange to be the youngest guests by a mile, it was actually really pleasant. Everyone said hello when we walked down the corridor, people would chat in the pool changing rooms and it had a really relaxed feel. On top of this, most people left the entertainment to go to bed around 10pm, and the hotel was very quiet, so it was easy to get to sleep too – no late night ravers! 😂 At home, our neighbours are mostly elderly people and we’re great friends with them all so we felt quite at home – for us it wasn’t a negative.

So, if you’re looking for somewhere peaceful to escape the kids, and you want a break from cooking, it’s a great option for a couples break. I always write an honest review of all of our experiences, but I thought it was important to say that this wasn’t a press trip and that our stay was incognito. I wanted to add that to my review because we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sinah Warren Warner Hotel on Hayling Island – and we honestly couldn’t fault it.

The room was lovely, the hotel was clean and well-kept, the staff went out of their way to be helpful and friendly, the grounds were gorgeous, the jacuzzi was exactly what we needed, the on-site entertainment made the stay easy and relaxing, and the food was really tasty. This was our first trip away from the kids in about 5 or 6 years, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend a Warner Hotel break to any frazzled parents who just need a few peaceful days off.

There’s so much on offer that you can stay on-site for your break, or head out in the daytime for some adventures. We had a lovely wander in Portsmouth and enjoyed some cheesy chips and cakes overlooking the water – I’d highly recommend a visit to Portsmouth Historic Dockyard and Spinnaker Tower offers panoramic views of Portsmouth. I can see why Sinah Warren is rated one of the best Warner Hotels on Tripadvisor – it deserves it’s excellent reviews and it was brilliant value for money with the meals and entertainment included.

So, ignore it when you hear that Warners getaways are just for older people – yes they might love a Warner Hotel stay but that’s just because the standards are so high and they offer good value for money. I wouldn’t hesitate to book another Warners getaway! For more information, and prices for your dates, click here to check out Sinah Warren on the Warner Hotels website.
