What are the best things to do in Norfolk with kids?
There are loads of fabulous days out on offer in Norfolk – it’s a brilliant destination for a family getaway with Great Yarmouth offering beaches, piers and attractions. If you’re up for some exploring you could see the seals at Blakeney Point, get grubby at BeWILDerwood, spend the day at Banham Zoo or enjoy the rides at Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park in nearby Suffolk. For a real adventure you can even explore the Norfolk Broads by boat – amazing! And, if the weather lets you down, the Hippodrome Circus show looks incredible, and you can have fun in the warm at SEA LIFE Great Yarmouth too. In fact, there are so many brilliant things to do I’ve written a guide about it so, for all the details, check out my article: The 10 best things to do in Norfolk with kids.
Norfolk or Suffolk – which is best for a family holiday?
Both Norfolk and Suffolk are brilliant choices for a family holiday, each offering a slightly different charm. Norfolk is perfect if you love a mix of seaside fun and countryside calm, with miles of sandy beaches, traditional resorts like Great Yarmouth and Cromer, and lots of family-friendly attractions. Suffolk, on the other hand, feels a little quieter and more rural with pretty coastal towns like Southwold and Aldeburgh. If your family enjoys lively days out and classic seaside entertainment, Norfolk has the edge, but if you’re after a slower pace with quaint villages and peaceful beaches, Suffolk is hard to beat.
Is Norfolk worth a visit?
Absolutely! As you can see there are lots of fantastic holiday parks to choose from and it’s one of the best holiday destinations for family-days out too – there are so many things to do with the kids in and around the Norfolk area. No wonder this part of the country is such a popular place for family holidays! We had lots of lovely getaways there when I was a child, and we’ve visited a few times with our own children too. I hope this has given you plenty of ideas for places to stay with the kids in Norfolk, and some options for fun days out too – have a lovely holiday! 😍
