If you’re looking for a fun family getaway, without a long a drive, this Eurocamp Holiday Review is all about TerSpegelt Village – a fabulous 5 star resort in the Netherlands. I’ve included our experiences, photos, details about the Eurocamp accommodation, what there is to do locally, driving time from the ports nearby, the closest airport and everything else that you need to know. We had such a great time (this one is packed with activities for tots through to teens!) and it’s a fabulous base for days out – more on that below!

Eurocamp TerSpegelt Village Review

In August 2026, we took an easy road trip to the Netherlands to enjoy stays at two fabulous resorts – TerSpegelt Village and Duinrell. We had such an action-packed fun getaway – both sites are amazing! TerSpegelt is really popular for its facilities, short drive time from Calais (just 3 hours) and its location – with places like Efteling Theme Park, Beekse Bergen Safari Park and other local attractions nearby. The kids really loved this trip! Here’s my review and everything that you need to know about staying with Eurocamp at Terspegelt Village in the Netherlands.

What was TerSpegelt Village like?

TerSpegelt Village has absolutely loads going for it! We picked this resort for our trip because we adore the Netherlands and we now have two teens to impress – it caters so well for kids of all ages! There are a couple of communal areas at TerSpegelt – one has the swimming lake, the pool, indoor play and some restaurants. The other houses sports courts, the bowling alley bar, a restaurant, the shop and other activities. I’m going to start my review focussing on the activities on offer – as this is where TerSpegelt Village really stands out from other Eurocamp resorts in the Netherlands.

Activities at TerSpegelt:

The water sports on offer at TerSpegelt Village are fantastic – time your trip over the peak summer months to make the most of these. There are several lakes – one for paddling and swimming, with a sandy beach surrounding it and some waterslides, and a couple for the activities. The kids can be pulled behind a speedboat on a dinghy or a banana boat (€12.50) – Finn and Lola absolutely loved this! (Typically July and August only.)

There’s also a giant blob (I think this may also be July and August only) which bounces the kids into the lake – it was so funny to watch and completely free. Plus, you can hire things like kayaks and paddleboards (€20 for 2 hours hire). I found the lake a bit cold but it was really popular and it certainly didn’t stop Lola! I’m going to do a bit of a photo dump in this part of my review as TerSpegelt Village has so much going on!

There are some lovely facilities to help you to enjoy some quality time as a family. The bar near the shop has a bowling alley (€33 for 4 people) and pool tables, pedalos were €5, 2 hours pickleball was €5 and you could also have a game of mini golf (€5pp). The site also hosted lots of free activities, things like scavenger hunt bingo, pool discos and staff led sports or games – like teen archery tag. (Though Finn and Lola gave up really quickly – apparently it’s quite hard! 😆)

As you can see, TerSpegelt caters really well for older kids and teenagers – there are plenty of sports, water sports and activities including a pump track and the Tubby Jump dinghy slide which sends the kids flying (free). Finn and Lola absolutely loved the jump and went on it multiple times in a row. (That is actually Finn flying in the photo below! 😆) For the free activities you typically just turn up at the correct time and for the paid activities you can book them on the app. We were really impressed with how many of the activities were included without an extra charge.

The indoor swimming pool complex will definitely be one of the highlights of your holiday at Tespegelt if you’re visiting with younger kids. Though we thought the actual swimming pool was a bit underwhelming, compared with the rest of the resort, the indoor water play area next to it was fantastic. It’s a huge sandy playground with climbing frames, slides, little houses and obstacle courses – free and loads of fun whatever the weather. There’s also a waterslide from the swimming pool. The cafe near the play space means parents can chill with a cuppa while the kids play and it’s kept nice and warm.

The resort is also full of playgrounds, with miniature ones and little pump tracks near the accommodation areas as well. And, with the bouncy pillow near the lake, some farm animals and bike hire on offer this site has so many activities to keep the whole family busy. There was also evening entertainment on offer – things like discos, a magic show, karaoke, musical bingo etc. TerSpegelt Village is a great base for an active family holiday and a really lovely resort to wander around with the lake, plenty of green spaces and pathways for cycling.

Food at TerSpegelt:

There are lots of food options at TerSpegelt if you want to eat on-site. You can grab cafe snacks and fast food, or enjoy a restaurant sit down meal. We thought the main restaurant by the lake was a little bit pricey (menu below) so we opted for fast-food instead. You could also order food from places like the bowling alley bar, and take-out could be delivered to your accommodation. Takeaway pizzas were from around €10 and Mr Whippy ice creams were really cheap at just €1.75.

It was really easy to order in the fast food restaurant as there’s an electronic order board that could be switched to English. It was amazing to have gluten-free options as two of us are intolerant. Lola and I had a fast-food lunch (shown below) which came to around £20. We also ordered a family box of chips to put with homemade hot dogs for dinner one evening.

The closest supermarkets to TerSpegelt Village are in Eeersel – it’s just a 5 minute drive from the site and there are plenty of options for a full shop. We did our main shop at Jumbo which was similarly priced to places like Tesco. We used the shop on-site for top up bits and snacks throughout our stay. Here’s an example of some of the prices: spreadable €2, milk €2, fresh pizzas €6, €2.45 6 eggs, fresh baguette €1.99. There wasn’t much allergy-friendly food available so bring your own things like GF bread if needed, or head off-site to a larger shop.

The supermarket at Terspegelt was large and generally well-stocked. Most things were reasonably priced so you can definitely shop on-site if you don’t want to leave or you’re visiting without a car. You can buy pastries, premade sarnies, bakery bread and cakes for easy lunches. During our stay, the supermarket was open from 8am-6/7pm.

Things to do near TerSpegelt Village:

Enjoy the magic at Efteling Theme Park

The Netherlands is an absolutely fantastic destination for family-friendly days out and there are so many great places to visit near TerSpegelt Village. One of the most popular theme parks in Europe, you’ll probably have Efteling at the top of your itinerary. We visited for the first time on this trip and had such an incredible day. It’s around 50 minutes away – with fairytale-inspired rides, huge rollercoasters, short queues and plenty for younger children – it’s well worth the drive! Thrill-seek at Toverland

Similarly, you’ll also find Toverland located around 45 minutes from TerSpegelt Village – offering yet another fun family day out. It’s a smaller lesser-known park but it has a great mix of rides, from gentle family attractions to big rollercoasters. A big bonus is that a large part of the park is indoors, making it a great option for rainy days or a colder out-of-season visit.

Have a wild Safari Park adventure

For an unforgettable animal experience, head to Beekse Bergen Safari Park where you can drive through the park and see lions, giraffes, rhinos and zebras up close. Unlike a regular zoo, this safari park lets you explore in your own car, by bus, on foot and even by boat, making it feel like a real African safari. Beekse Bergen is quite honestly the best zoo we’ve ever been to – we had yet another fantastic day there on this trip! Play all day at Speelland

If you’re visiting Beekse Bergen Safari Park, don’t miss Speelland, a brilliant outdoor play park located right next door. It’s the perfect spot for young kids with climbing frames, waterslides and even mini rides. Set beside a lake with a sandy beach, Speelland is ideal for warm summer days – kids can paddle in the water, build sandcastles and enjoy pedal boats while parents relax. Immerse yourself in nature

The Borderlands area around Eersel (just a five minute drive away) are perfect for a slower-paced day exploring the Dutch and Belgian countryside. There are some lovely walking and cycling routes through forests and the pretty villages nearby. Lola and I did a 5.5km walk after getting off the bus from Eindhoven too early 😂 but it’s a nice area to navigate on foot. Or explore using public transport (our bus from Eindhoven to Eersel was only around £3 per adult and kids were free) though it’s a bit of a walk to the nearest bus stop.

Spend a day in the city

If you fancy a city adventure, there are some brilliant cities within reach of TerSpegelt. Eindhoven is the closest (just a 20 minute drive) and great for shopping, food and a wander around. Alternatively, the pretty Den Bosch is well worth visiting for its canals, historic streets and famous Bossche bol cakes – it’s around 40 minutes from the resort. Around 90 minutes away, Amsterdam is also doable as a day trip if you don’t mind an early start. Was the accommodation good?

We stayed in a Eurocamp Premium holiday home and had everything that we needed for a comfortable stay – this one seemed very new, clean and modern. The only thing that would have made it better would have been an oven – though we had a hob, a microwave and a BBQ so cooking dinner was fine. The kitchen area also had a dishwasher, which is always a bonus, as well as a smart TV which is unusual in the Premium range but a handy bonus! Our accommodation had a central living and kitchen area with a dining table and separate sofa, 3 bedrooms, a shower room and an individual toilet.

We also had air-conditioning, plus black out curtains and bug screens on the windows which were great. It was lovely to sit out on the decking to relax or eat – it ran the whole length of the holiday home and was awesome – the lounge seating option is well worth booking if possible! The accommodation areas were also grouped around small playgrounds (with no car access) so it was well set up for families. We could park in a parking area nearby.

What else do I need to know?

Most Eurocamp accommodation doesn’t come with a TV – it’s usually only included with their higher ranges – so it’s handy to take a tablet or laptop with you with some movies for when you want a quiet evening if it’s not included with your holiday home.
There is a laundrette on-site and I did some washing during our stay. It was really easy as the screen could be switched to English and you paid by card. It was €6.50 per wash (including detergent) and €3 for the dryer. Both took about 45 mins each.
All of the staff that we met on our trip were friendly, helpful and spoke very good English.
The resort had free WiFi and the signal was good – details were on our fridge and we were able to use it for our phones and streaming on the TV when we needed a rest.

Getting to TerSpegelt Village from the UK

TerSpegelt Village is perfect for a short family road trip to the Netherlands if you’re travelling by ferry or Le Shuttle – the resort is only about a 3 hour drive from Calais on an easy toll-free route. Eurocamp have access to discounted ferry slots to Calais which are usually significantly cheaper than booking directly. The prices fluctuate but a return on the ferry from Dover to Calais is typically around £100 and the Le Shuttle Channel Crossing is around £250.

You could also arrive into Dunkirk – this would be a 2.5 hour drive. Or, for those who live further up the country, you can catch a ferry from Harwich to the Hook of Holland – from there it’s around a 2 hour drive. If you’d prefer to fly to Terspegelt then the nearest airport is Eindhoven – just 20 minutes away. Use the Skyscanner website to find the cheapest flight prices – it’ll compare airlines, airports, dates and times for you.

How much does a Eurocamp holiday at TerSpegelt Village cost – was it good value for money?

Hopefully my review has been helpful – our 7 night stay at TerSpegelt Village in the Netherlands in a Eurocamp premium holiday home was worth around £170 per night. We took our trip during the school summer holidays (the last week of August), which made this one pricier than some of our other Eurocamp getaways, but the resort has lots to offer! If you’re working with a smaller budget, May half-term and term-time visits can be significantly cheaper – you can visit for a week in early June 2027 from around £500!

Full disclosure, our stay was gifted but I can honestly say that TerSpegelt Village is a brilliant option for a summer break. It’s a huge site with loads of fun activities and the Netherlands is a fabulous place for a family-friendly getaway. We loved doing a long walk around the big lake in the evening and Lola enjoyed a paddle. If you’re restricted to school holiday dates then look for May half-term getaways – they’re always so much cheaper than the summer holidays!
