If you’re planning a trip to Disneyland Paris with kids, one of the biggest decisions is choosing the best time to visit. Prices, queues, weather and events can vary hugely throughout the year, so picking the right month can make a big difference to your overall experience. The best time to visit Disneyland Paris really depends on what matters most to your family. If you want lower prices and shorter queues, term-time months are usually best. If you’re happy to deal with bigger crowds in exchange for warmer weather or special events, then school holidays and summer can still be a great option.

It’s also worth noting that the weather in Paris can be quite changeable, with light rain possible at any time of year, so it’s always a good idea to pack for all conditions. In this month by month guide, I’ll break down exactly what to expect so you can decide the best time to visit Disneyland Paris for your family.
When’s the best time to visit Disneyland Paris?
January
January is one of the quietest and cheapest times to visit Disneyland Paris, making it a great option if you’re trying to keep costs down. Crowds are much lower after the Christmas period, and you’ll often find shorter queue times across the park. However, it can be very cold, with temperatures often sitting between 2°C and 7°C, so you’ll need to wrap up warm, especially if you’re visiting with younger children. Some rides may also close for maintenance during this period, so it’s worth checking ahead.
February

February can be a bit mixed. Early in the month, you’ll still benefit from lower crowds and prices, but once school holidays begin, the parks become noticeably busier. It’s still cold, similar to January, but the slightly longer days can make it feel more manageable. If you can visit outside of half-term, February can offer a good balance between cost and crowd levels.
March
March is often one of the best times to visit Disneyland Paris if you want to avoid the crowds. The weather starts to improve slightly, with temperatures around 10°C to 12°C, and queue times are usually much shorter than peak season. It’s a great option for families who can travel during term time and want a quieter experience without the extreme cold of winter.
April
April brings milder weather and a more lively atmosphere, but it also coincides with Easter holidays, which means larger crowds and higher prices. Temperatures are usually around 14°C to 16°C, making it more comfortable for walking around the park with kids. If you’re able to visit outside of the Easter break, April can be one of the best times to visit Disneyland Paris for a balance of weather and crowd levels.
May

May is often considered one of the best months to visit Disneyland Paris. The weather is usually pleasant, with temperatures around 17°C to 20°C, and the park feels comfortable to explore. Crowds are moderate, although bank holidays and the week of May half-term will obviously be far busier than the rest of the month. Overall, it’s a great time for families looking for a good balance between weather and queue times.
June
June is another good time to visit Disneyland Paris. The weather is warm, typically around 20°C to 22°C, but not usually too hot, making it comfortable for a full day in the park. Crowds are moderate before the peak summer holidays begin, although weekends and school trip periods can still be busy. Longer daylight hours also mean that you can enjoy more of the park, including evening entertainment. If you’re combing your trip with a holiday park stay (at somewhere like Eurocamp or Center Parcs) the warmer weather works well all round.
July and August
July and August are the busiest months at Disneyland Paris. This is peak season with long queues, higher prices and large crowds throughout the day. The weather is warm, typically in the low to mid 20s, although heatwaves can push temperatures higher. Combined with long queue times, this can make the day feel more tiring for younger children. However, the park has a great atmosphere during summer, with extended opening hours and a full entertainment schedule. If you visit during this time, planning your day carefully is essential and it might be worth looking at Premier Access (fast-track) tickets.
September

September is one of the best times to visit Disneyland Paris for families who are able to travel term-time. Crowds drop significantly after the summer break, but the weather often remains warm and pleasant. This makes it a great option if you want a quieter experience without sacrificing good weather. Queue times were typically 45-60 minutes for the big rides when we visited in early September – though the 33°C heatwave took us by surprise! 😅
October
October is a popular time to visit Disneyland Paris thanks to the Halloween season. The park is decorated with pumpkins and themed displays, which adds a fun atmosphere for kids. It’s worth noting that October is generally busy throughout the month due to Halloween celebrations, with even higher crowds during half-term and weekends. The weather is cooler but usually still comfortable for exploring.
November
November can be a great time to visit if you want to experience the start of the Christmas season without the peak crowds. Decorations usually begin to appear, and the festive atmosphere builds throughout the month. It’s quieter than December and often cheaper, although the weather is colder and days are shorter.
December

December is one of the most magical times to visit Disneyland Paris, especially in the lead-up to Christmas. The park is beautifully decorated, and there’s a strong festive atmosphere that families love. Early December can still be a good time to visit with moderate crowds, but as you get closer to Christmas and New Year, the parks become extremely busy and prices increase significantly. Booking early is essential if you’re planning a festive trip and you’ll need to wrap up warm to beat the cold!
What’s the weather like in Paris?
To give you an idea of what the weather might be like, here are the average daily highs and lows for Paris across the year. Unlike southern destinations, Paris doesn’t tend to reach extreme temperatures, but it can still feel warm in the summer months and chilly in winter, especially with early mornings and evenings. In peak summer (July and August), Paris can occasionally experience heatwaves where temperatures climb into the 30s. We’ve actually experienced two Paris heatwaves – it was 40°C when we last passed through and we had highs of 33°C when we visited Disneyland Paris. Where’s the best place to stay near Disneyland Paris with kids?
I’ve actually put together two guides on the best places to stay near Disneyland Paris – this is largely because it’ll depend on what time of year you’re choosing to visit. While holiday parks with outdoor pools, waterslides and playgrounds work fabulously for the summer months, an out-of-season trip is better suited to accommodation suitable for year-round stays. When’s the best time to visit Disneyland Paris?

The best time to visit Disneyland Paris for families is usually May, June or September, when you’ll get a good balance of weather, queue times and prices. If you’re looking for the cheapest time to visit Disneyland Paris, January and early March are often the best options. For the most magical atmosphere, October (Halloween) and December (Christmas) are hard to beat, but you’ll need to be prepared for bigger crowds and cooler weather. If you’re combining your trip with a city visit, it’s worth considering how the weather and crowds will impact sightseeing in central Paris too when you’re choosing the timing for your trip. And, if your Disneyland Paris trip is going alongside a holiday park stay then June – early September will allow you to make the most of the facilities there too.
Choosing the best time to visit Disneyland Paris really comes down to what matters most to your family. Whether you’re prioritising budget, shorter queues or a special seasonal experience, there’s no single “perfect” month, but there are definitely better times depending on your priorities.
