Dear Frugal Mums,
This week my husband has been off from work so we ventured out a little for some quality family time. We took the kids to the park and it was really lovely – it was their first time in play park since March! We had fun playing basketball and football in the astro court too; it was so nice to do something normal, and amazing how much we all appreciated something that we used to do all the time without a second’s thought.
On Friday, we took the children to the amusements. It was really quiet which is so unusual for this time of year, but obviously not surprising given what the year has entailed. The amusement park was really well prepared and we felt very safe being there. All of the staff wore masks and the rides were sanitised after each use. There were markers on the floor too for queueing at a safe distance. Inside, the penny machines and games were also wiped after use and there was sanitiser to use on the way in and out of the building.
Finn and Lola had such a great afternoon and it was nice being out and about, seeing them happy. It definitely gave us a glimpse of how things will work now that everything is starting to get back on track. But, it felt quite strange to be doing ‘normal’ things this week, after such a long time hidden away from the world.
On Saturday, we took my nan for her 80th birthday treat to an escape room, which had been postponed since April. They were also brilliant with social distancing and the cleaning of everything – although things take a little longer, it was good fun and worth the wait. The kids then stayed at my mums for the night so we had a much needed night off!
I’m painting the kitchen cupboards this week coming, so wish me luck! It definitely won’t be as much fun as all of this!! 😂
