We don’t live far from Hyperspace Laser Tag in Folkestone, and it’s one of the kids favourite things to do, here’s all of the info you need…

What’s there for the kids to do?

Hyperspace Laser Tag is a 3,000 square foot indoor Laser Tag arena, with a few bases. There are high and low areas, places to hide and lots of different routes to take – the arena is dark with low lightening.

It’s generally only open 4 days a week (weekends, plus after school on Thursdays and Fridays) so check their website before you visit – and it’s best to pre-book online.

What age group is it suitable for?

Hyperspace Laser Tag is suitable for children aged 8 and above, over 1.2m. It’s loads of fun – my husband and I like to join in too – and it’s the perfect birthday treat (or party) when the kids get past the age for place centres and bouncy castles!

We always ask for vouchers for Christmas and birthday presents – as it’s the perfect activity to enjoy on a rainy day with friends!

Under 16s will need an adult with them on the premises.

How much is it?

Here are the current prices for 2023:

1 game: £6

2 games: £10

3 games: £13

Each game lasts around 20 minutes, and if you book multiple games there’ll be a short break in between for a rest and a drink! (It does get really hot and sweaty in there!)

During half-term / school holiday periods they run one hour slots for £10.

What facilities are there?

Hyperspace has all of the usual things that you’d expect – a cafe with a viewing area to watch the kids (on TV screen), toilets and free parking. The food in the cafe is your standard junk food, and the slushies are handy for the kids who always get super sweaty!!

Before beginning the game, all those taking part will need to go into a separate room for rules and instructions, they’ll then go next door to put the packs on – make sure you arrive 15 minutes before your booking time to accommodate this.

Scores are recorded for teams and individuals – so they can check those out afterwards and it gives the kids a bit of competition! Hyperspace is actually next door to Kidz Planet play centre – which is perfect for the little ones who are too young for laser tag – so there’s something to suit everyone.
