Carvery and squishie craft!

Saturday 26th October 2019

Dear Frugal Mums,

We’ve had a busy few days – yesterday we went to play at a friend’s and then went out for dinner in the evening for my sister-in-law’s birthday! It was good fun getting together at Toby Carvery, and if you download their app kids eat for a quid during the school holidays!

Today we went to Hobbycraft for their spider squishie craft session. The kids enjoyed it, and love their squishes, but we were done in 15 minutes – so it was quite a trek just for quarter of an hour. They actually allocate an hour but I think because of the simplicity of the activity it just didn’t take very long. They have other craft events coming up, for example making Christmas decorations, and I think perhaps those would be a bit more worthwhile. Having said that, for 2 quid a kid, it was cheap and cheerful.

If you’re looking for ideas of things to do at home in the warm – have a look at my post. We made a shop on Thursday (as we stayed home apart from a torrential rain dog walk!) and the kids were busy for aaaaaages! Sometimes the simple days are the best ones. This afternoon they have been painting pineapple money boxes – half price at Hobbycraft at the mo!

Take it easy,

Nat x
