10 years ago today I married my best friend; a decade passed already, and many more to come.
Young and in love, we muddled through together, learning on the job.
We had two surprise babies, and threw ourselves wholeheartedly into being the best parents that we could be.
Our beautiful children became our greatest achievement of all.
There have been huge highs, and massive blows. But whilst things have not always been easy, often seeming impossible, we have faced each challenge together.
Each set back has made us stronger and more resilient.
We’ve laughed together, and cried together.
We’ve weathered illness and sleepless nights.
We’ve made mistakes, and learned from them.
We’ve lost loved ones, and together rebuilt our broken hearts.
We’ve made amazing memories, and hard decisions.
We’ve had times of bliss, and periods of turbulence too.
Our marriage isn’t perfect, but it’s ours. And we are far stronger together than we would ever be apart.
The life we have built, and our beautiful family, is far more precious than anything money could buy.
Whilst we may not be rich, we hit the jackpot when we found each other.
And every moment that has followed since, good and bad, has been part of the journey that has led us to where we are now.
Every experience has shaped us into the people that we are today; the strong family unit that we’ve become.
We may not always see eye to eye, but somehow we find ourselves back on the same page.
I can’t imagine sharing my life with anyone else, nor what my life would look like without this man in it.
We’ve shared 14 years, almost half of our lives, but we have so many more adventures to experience together.
I look back fondly at our past, and ahead with hope and excitement for the future and the memories that we are yet to make.
